Abstract

The buckling restrained brace of the present invention includes: a center steel which extends along an axis; a restraining member which covers an outer periphery of the center steel such that both end portions of the center steel protrude from the restraining member; a filling material which fills an interior of the restraining member; a pair of joint plates which are arranged such that each of the end portions of the center steel is interposed therebetween; and a plate-connecting unit through which each of the joint plates is connected with the center steel so as to be movable relative to the center steel. A total length of the joint plates and the center steel in a direction of the axis is able to be adjusted by moving the joint plates relative to the center steel.
