Abstract

The present invention involves a frame assembly comprising a frame comprising a rail support for supporting rails including window rail, door rail, clearstory rail, and insect screen or open-work rail, and a frame part disposed adjacent to the rail support; and a fixing apparatus for fixing the frame to an opening's edge to be installed with the frame wherein the fixing apparatus according to the present invention fixes the frame to the opening's edge to be installed with the frame by fixing the frame part such that no hole is formed on the frame part and/or rail support. The present invention further involves a method for installing a frame assembly comprising steps of positioning the frame on the opening's edge to be installed with the frame and fixing the frame to the opening's edge to be installed with the frame wherein the fixation of the frame to the opening's edge to be installed with the frame according to the present invention is carried out using a fixing apparatus to fix the frame to the opening's edge to be installed with the frame such that no hole is formed on the frame part and/or rail support.

Description

FRAME ASSEMBLY AND METHOD FOR INSTALLING FRAME ASSEMBLY
Field of the invention
This invention relates to a frame assembly and method for installing frame assembly.
Background of the invention
Conventionally, frame installation requires forming holes on the frame for fastening the frame on the edge of an opening to be installed with the frame. If the person installing the frame is not skilled in the art, the frame might be damaged in the process and further, water or rain might leak into the building. In addition, frame installation is generally difficult and inconvenient to perform since, for example, the installing person needs to bend his body into the frame opening to bore holes for fastening the frame to the opening’s edge.
The present inventors had researched prior arts involving frame and method for installing frame and found prior art disclosing several frames and methods for installing frames in the following examples.
Thai patent application publication No. 037532 disclosed a method for : installing a frame for opening/closing on a wall. It described a method for installing a
PVC frame on a dry wall having a space formed by using angle bars having adjustable holes for fastening the frame to the wall using anchors and screws. The method comprises steps of fastening the angle bars to the PVC frame using screw, marking the wall, and fastening the frame fixed with the angle bars to the wall using anchors or screws.
U.S. patent No. 8,621,795 B1 disclosed installation of a frame using flexible support brackets fixed to the frame without forming holes on the frame wherein the support brackets were fixed to the frame using, for example, heat welding or adhesive bonding. In an embodiment wherein the support bracket was fixed to the
PVC frame, the bracket is made of vinyl-coated iron so as to be able to be fixed to the PVC frame using vinyl adhesive bonding.
U.S. patent document No. 2015/00206465 A1 disclosed a system and method for fixing a plurality of frame assemblies wherein the first frame assembly was disposed in an opening adjacent to the second frame assembly and both frame assemblies were connected using at least one H-shaped connector.
It can be seen that the above-mentioned prior art disclosing several types of frames and method for installing frames still have difficulties in installation and the above-mentioned installation problems cannot be solved yet.
Summary of the invention
The present invention involves a frame assembly comprising a frame comprising a rail support for supporting rails including window rail, door rail,
. «1 A] . -2- clearstory rail, and insect screen or open-work rail, and a frame part disposed adjacent to the rail support; and a fixing apparatus for fixing the frame to an opening’s edge characterized in that the fixing apparatus fixes the frame to the opening’s edge to be installed with the frame by fixing the frame part such that no hole is formed on the frame part and/or rail support.
The present invention further involves a method for installing a frame assembly comprising steps of positioning the frame on the opening’s edge to be installed with the frame and fixing the frame to the opening’s edge to be installed with the frame characterized in that the fixation of the frame to the opening’s edge to be installed with the frame is carried out using a fixing apparatus to fix the frame to the opening’s edge to be installed with the frame wherein the frame part is fixed such that no hole is formed on the frame part and/or rail support.
The objective of the present invention is to provide a frame assembly comprising different components and a method for installing a frame assembly comprising steps different from that in the above-mentioned prior art and conventional state of the art which can solve the above-mentioned problems. The present invention provides several advantages such as: - the frame can be installed on the opening’s edge to be installed with the frame without forming a hole on the frame part and/or rail support; ~~ the problem of frame damage caused by holes formed on the frame part } and/or rail support is prevented; - the problem of water or rain leak through the frame into the building is prevented; - the installation is done easily, conveniently, quickly, neatly, and aesthetically; - possible worker accidents or injuries in the operation are reduced; and - the frame can be adjusted or removed for installation in another location while still intact.

Detailed description of the invention
Additional features and advantages of the present invention will become more apparent from the details described below with reference to accompanying drawings.
Figure 1 to 7 shows a frame assembly and method for installing a frame assembly according to the present invention.
Figure 1 to 3 shows a frame assembly according to the present invention. The frame assembly comprises a frame 1 and a fixing apparatus 2. The frame 1 comprises a rail support 1.1 for supporting rail including window rail, door rail, clearstory rail, and insect screen or open-work rail, and a frame part 1.2 disposed adjacent to the rail support 1.1. The fixing apparatus is provided for fixing the frame (1) to the opening’s edge to be installed with the frame 1 wherein the fixing apparatus 2 according to the present invention fixes the frame (1) to the opening’s edge to be installed with the frame by fixing the frame part 1.2 such that no hole is formed on the frame part 1.2 and/or the rail support 1.1.
According to the present invention, the frame part 1.2 comprises a frame case 1.2.1 having one side disposed adjacent to the rail support 1.1 and the other side used to.cover an original frame or the opening’s edge to be installed with the frame 1.
According to the present invention, the frame case 1.2.1 comprises a base 1.2.1.1, an insertion hole 1.2.1.2 disposed on the base 1.2.1.1 along the horizontal direction on one side, and a fixing groove 1.2.1.3 disposed on a wall of the insertion hole 1.2.1.2.
According to the present invention, the fixing groove 1.2.1.3 is formed as a rectangular groove extending upward.
According to the present invention, the frame part 1.2 comprises an overhang 1.2.2 disposed on the opposite side of the insertion hole 1.2.1.2 of the frame case 1.2.1.
According to the present invention, the frame part 1.2 further comprises an outside decorative molding 1.2.3 disposed below the overhang 1.2.2.
According to said embodiment, particularly the frame part 1.2 comprising the overhang 1.2.2 provides an advantage of preventing water from spattering or dripping over the window, door, clearstory, or the outside decorative molding thereby reducing : water stain on said surfaces.
According to the present invention, the rail support 1.1 disposed over the insertion hole 1.2.1.2 of the frame case 1.2.1 functions as open-work support 1.1.1 for installing an open-work and is provided with a stepped portion 1.1.2 perpendicular to the open-work support 1.1.1 for facilitating planar installation of an open-work.
According to said embodiment, particularly the stepped portion 1.1.2 provides an advantage of a convenient, quick, planar, and aesthetic installation of an open- work since the stepped portion 1.1.2 functions as distance and plane setter in installing an open-work disposed adjacent to said stepped portion 1.1.2.
Figure 2 and 3 shows the fixing apparatus according to the present invention.
The fixing apparatus comprises a body 2.1, and a fixing insert 2.2 provided at one end of the body 2.1.
According to the present invention, the body 2.1 is formed into a flat sheet (see figure 2).
According to the present invention, the body 2.1 is formed into a muiti-planar sheet, preferably a wave-shaped sheet or a serrated sheet (see figure 3).
According to said embodiment, particularly the body 2.1 formed into a muiti- planar sheet, preferably a wave-shaped sheet or a serrated sheet provides an advantage of the body 2.1 being able to be stably placed on an uneven surface of a wall of the opening’s edge to be installed with the frame 1 and thus the fixing of the frame to the opening’s edge becomes more stable and robust.
According to the present invention, the fixing insert 2.2 comprises an insert portion 2.2.1 and a fixing portion 2.2.2.
According to the present invention, the insert portion 2.2.1 and the fixing portion 2.2.2 has a flat shape.
According to the present invention, the body 2.1 is disposed so as to form an angle in the range of 80° to 90° with the insert portion 2.2.1, preferably in the range of 83° to 85° with the insert portion 2.2.1.
According to the present invention, the fixing portion 2.2.2 is disposed so as to form an angle in the range of 75° to 115° with the insert portion 2.2.1, preferably in the range of 80° to 90° with the insert portion 2.2.1.
According to the present invention, the fixing insert 2.2 is inserted into the insertion hole 1.2.1.2 of the frame case 1.2.1 such that the fixing portion 2.2.2 engages with the fixing groove 1.2.1.3 of the frame case 1.2.1 and the body 2.1 comes into contact with the wall of the opening’s edge to be installed with the frame 1 when the frame 1 is installed (see figure 5 to 7).
According to the present invention, the body 2.1 comprises a fixing hole 2.1.1 for fastening using a screw or a bolt with the wall of the opening’s edge to be installed with the frame 1 (see figure 2 and 3).
According to said embodiment, particularly the frame 1 and the fixing apparatus 2 having said configuration provide advantages of the frame 1 being able to be installed on the opening’s edge to be installed with the frame 1 without forming a hole on the frame part 1.2 and/or the rail support 1.1; preventing the problem of possible damages on the frame 1 caused by hole boring on the frame part 1.2 and/or the rail support 1.1; preventing the problem of possible water or rain leak through the hole formed on the frame 1 into the building; the installation being easy, convenient, and quick, neat, and aesthetic; and the frame being able to be removed for installation in another location while the frame is still intact; and reducing chances of possible worker accidents or injuries in operation.
According to the present invention, the frame assembly further comprises an inside decorative molding 3 (see figure 7). The inside decorative molding 3 is provided with an insert 3.1 for insertion into the insertion hole 1.2.1.2 of the frame case 1.2.1 so as to cover the fixing apparatus 2.
According to said embodiment, an advantage of obtaining a neat and aesthetic frame is provided.
Figures 4 to 7 show a method for installing the frame assembly according to the present invention. The method for installing the frame assembly comprises steps of positioning the frame 1 on the opening’s edge to be installed with the frame 1 and fixing the frame 1 to the opening’s edge to be installed with the frame 1 wherein the fixation of the frame 1 to the opening’s edge to be installed with the frame 1 according to the present invention is carried out using the fixing apparatus 2 to fix the frame 1 to the opening’s edge to be installed with the frame 1 by fixing the frame part 1.2 such that no hole is formed on the frame part 1.2 and/or the rail support 1.1.
According to the present invention, the fixation of the frame 1 to the opening’s edge to be installed with the frame 1 is carried out by inserting the fixing insert 2.2 of the fixing apparatus 2 into the insertion hole 1.2.1.2 of the frame case 1.2.1 such that the fixing portion 2.2.2 engages with the fixing groove 1.2.1.3 of the frame case 1.2.1 and the body 2.1 of the fixing apparatus comes into contact with the wall of the opening’s edge to be installed with the frame 1.
According to the present invention, the fixation of the frame 1 to the opening’s edge to be installed with the frame 1 further comprises fastening using a screw or a bolt through the fixing hole 2.1.1 on the body 2.1 of the fixing apparatus 2 with the wall of the opening’s edge to be installed with the frame 1.
According to the method for installing said frame assembly, advantages of easy, convenient, quick installation and solution to the above-mentioned problems are provided.
The method for installing the frame assembly of the present invention further comprises covering the fixing apparatus 2 with the inside decorative molding 3 provided with the insert 3.1.
According to the present invention, the cover of the fixing apparatus 2 using the inside decorative molding 3 is carried out by inserting the insert 3.1 of the inside decorative molding 3 into the insertion hole 1.2.1.2 of the frame case 1.2.1.
According to the present invention, the cover of the fixing apparatus 2 using 40 the inside decorative molding 3 further comprises forming a notch on the insert 3.1 of the inside decorative molding 3 for engagement with the fixing insert 2.2 of the fixing apparatus 2.
According to said embodiment, particularly said cover of the fixing apparatus 2 using the inside decorative molding 3 provides an advantage of obtaining a neat and aesthetic installation of the frame assembly.
The frame assembly and the method for installing the frame assembly according to the present invention are not limited by the embodiments and steps described above or by the accompanying drawings. Modifications or variations to the frame 1 and fixing apparatus 2 to achieve any other embodiments having similar results are possible for example, the insert portion 2.2.1 and the fixing portion 2.2.2 of the fixing insert 2.2 of the fixing apparatus 2 may be formed into any other shapes in addition to the flat sheet, the angle between the insert portion 2.2.1 and the fixing portion 2.2.2/between the insert portion 2.2.1 and the body 2.1 of the fixing apparatus 2 may differ from that specified above, etc. However, any modifications or variations are considered within the concept and scope of the present invention.

Claims (8)

  1. - abody (2.1), and - affixing insert (2.2) provided at one end of the body (2.1)
    9. Frame assembly according to claim 8 wherein the body (2.1) is formed into a flat sheet
    10. Frame assembly according to claim 8 wherein the body (2.1) is formed into a multi-planar sheet, preferably a wave-shaped sheet or a serrated sheet
    11. Frame assembly according to claim 8 wherein the fixing insert (2.2) comprises an insert portion (2.2.1) and a fixing portion (2.2.2)
    12. Frame assembly according to claim 11 wherein the insert portion (2.2.1) and the fixing portion (2.2.2) has a flat shape
    13. Frame assembly according to any one of claims 8 to 10 wherein the body
    (2.1) is disposed so as to form an angle with the insert portion (2.2.1)
    14. Frame assembly according to claim 13 wherein the body (2.1) forms an angle in the range of 80° to 90° with the insert portion (2.2.1)
    15. Frame assembly according to claim 14 the body (2.1) forms an angle preferably in the range of 83° to 85° with the insert portion (2.2.1)
    16. Frame assembly according to claim 11 or 12 wherein the fixing portion
    (2.2.2) is disposed so as to form an angle with the insert portion (2.2.1)
    17. Frame assembly according to claim 16 wherein the fixing portion (2.2.2) forms an angle in the range of 75° to 115° with the insert portion (2.2.1)
    18. Frame assembly according to claim 17 wherein the fixing portion (2.2.2) forms an angle preferably in the range of 80° to 90° with the insert portion (2.2.1)
    19. Frame assembly according to any one of claim 8 or claims 11 to 18 wherein the fixing insert (2.2) is inserted into the insertion hole (1.2.1.2) of the frame case (1.2.1) such that the fixing portion (2.2.2) engages with the fixing groove
    (1.2.1.3) of the frame case (1.2.1) and the body (2.1) comes into contact with the wall of the opening’s edge to be installed with the frame (1) when the frame (1) is installed
    20. Frame assembly according to any one of claims 8 to 10 wherein the body
    (2.1) comprises a fixing hole (2.1.1) for fastening using a screw or a bolt with the wall of the opening’s edge to be installed with the frame (1)
    21. Frame assembly according to any of the preceding claims further comprising an inside decorative molding (3) provided with an insert (3.1) for insertion into the insertion hole (1.2.1.2) of the frame case (1.2.1) so as to cover the fixing apparatus (2)
    22. Method for installing the frame assembly comprises steps of:
    - positioning the frame (1) on the opening’s edge to be installed with the frame (1) and - fixing the frame (1) to the opening’s edge to be installed with the frame (1) characterized in that the fixation of the frame (1) to the opening’s edge to be installed with the frame (1) is carried out using the fixing apparatus (2) to fix the frame (1) to the opening’s edge to be installed with the frame (1) by fixing the frame part (1.2) such that no hole is formed on the frame part (1.2) and/or the rail support (1.1)
    23. Method for installing the frame assembly according to claim 22 wherein the frame part (1.2) is formed according to any one of claims 1 to 7
    24. Method for installing the frame assembly according to claim 22 wherein the fixing apparatus (2) is formed according to any one of claims 8 to 20
    25. Method for installing the frame assembly according to claim 22 wherein the fixation of the frame (1) to the opening’s edge to be installed with the frame (1) is carried out by inserting the fixing insert (2.2) of the fixing apparatus (2) into the insertion hole (1.2.1.2) of the frame case (1.2.1) such that the fixing portion (2.2.2) engages with the fixing groove (1.2.1.3) of the frame case (1.2.1) and the body (2.1) , of the fixing apparatus comes into contact with the wall of the opening’s edge to be installed with the frame (1)
    26. Method for installing the frame assembly according to claim 22 or 25 wherein the fixation of the frame (1) to the opening’s edge to be installed with the frame (1) further comprises fastening using a screw or a bolt through the fixing hole
    (2.1.1) on the body (2.1) of the fixing apparatus (2) with the wall of the opening’s edge to be installed with the frame (1)
    27. Method for installing the frame assembly according to any one of claims 22 to 26 further comprising covering the fixing apparatus (2) with the inside decorative molding (3) provided with the insert (3.1)
    28. Method for installing the frame assembly according to claim 27 wherein the cover of the fixing apparatus (2) using the inside decorative molding (3) is carried out by inserting the insert (3.1) of the inside decorative molding (3) into the insertion hole (1.2.1.2) of the frame case (1.2.1)
    29. Method for installing the frame assembly according to claim 27 or 28 wherein the cover of the fixing apparatus (2) using the inside decorative molding (3) further comprises forming a notch on the insert (3.1) of the inside decorative molding (3) for engagement with the fixing insert (2.2) of the fixing apparatus (2)
    Claims
    1. Frame assembly comprising: - frame (1) comprising a rail support (1.1) for supporting rails including window rail, door rail, clearstory rail, and insect screen or open-work rail, and a frame part (1.2) disposed adjacent to the rail support (1.1); and - a fixing apparatus (2) for fixing the frame (1) to an opening’s edge to be installed with the frame (1) characterized in that the fixing apparatus (2) fixes the frame (1) to the opening’s edge to be installed with the frame (1) by fixing the frame part (1.2) such that no hole is formed on the frame part (1.2) and/or rail support (1.1)
  2. 2. Frame assembly according to claim 1 wherein the frame part (1.2) comprises a frame case (1.2.1) having one side disposed adjacent to the rail support
    (1.1) and the other side used to cover an original frame or the opening’s edge to be installed with the frame (1)
  3. 3. Frame assembly according to claim 2 wherein the frame case (1.2.1) comprises: - abase (1.2.1.1) - an insertion hole (1.2.1.2) disposed on the base (1.2.1.1) along the horizontal direction on one side, and - a fixing groove (1.2.1.3) disposed on a wall of the insertion hole

  4. 4. Frame assembly according to claim 3 wherein the fixing groove (1.2.1.3) is formed as a rectangular groove extending upward
  5. 5. Frame assembly according to any one of claims 1 to 4 wherein the frame part (1.2) comprises an overhang (1.2.2) disposed on the opposite side of the insertion hole (1.2.1.2) of the frame case (1.2.1)
  6. 6. Frame assembly according to any one of claims 1 to 5 wherein the frame part (1.2) further comprises an outside decorative molding (1.2.3) disposed below the overhang (1.2.2)
  7. 7. Frame assembly according to any one of claims 1 to 6 wherein the rail support (1.1) disposed over the insertion hole (1.2.1.2) of the frame case (1.2.1) functions as open-work support (1.1.1) for installing an open-work and is provided with a stepped portion (1.1.2) perpendicular to the open-work support (1.1.1) for facilitating planar installation of an open-work
