Abstract
Stress concentration at a joint portion between the base portion of a bridge pier and a pile foundation and peeling of concrete from a steel member are suppressed. A joint structure is provided with: an outer plate (2a) for resting on a pile head (1a) of a pile foundation (1) which is continuously formed with a base portion of a cylindrical bridge pier (2) and which has a shift preventing hole (2aa); a joint reinforcing bar (3) protruding from the pile head (1a) on the outer peripheral side of the outer plate (2a); a plurality of first and second perforated steel plates (6, 7) alternately protruding on the outer peripheral surface of the outer plate (2a) with a longitudinal direction aligned with the direction in which the joint reinforcing bar (3) protrudes; and a cylindrical steel shell (4) fitted on the outside of the outer plate (2a) and the joint reinforcing bar (3) and fixedly connected to the outer plate (2a) via an extension portion (2ab) of the outer plate (2a) extending toward the outer peripheral side. Joining concrete (5) enters the shift preventing hole (2aa) of the outer plate (2a) and openings (6a, 7a) of the first and second perforated steel plates (6, 7), whereby the steel and concrete can be reliably integrated in an abrupt cross sectional change portion between the bridge pier base portion and the steel shell.
