Abstract
To provide a vehicle body cover structure for a saddle-ride type vehicle, improving design and maintainability of an outer edge. Side molds 44 each having a generally square-bracket shaped cross section are attached across outer edges of a front inner cover 32and a front cover 31 of a leg shield. A first wall portion 70 of the side mold 44 abuts on a back surface of a joint flange 53 of the front inner cover 32, the first wall portion 70 being rearward of the vehicle body. Boss portions 59b which project forward are provided to the joint flange 53. Fitting holes 78 of a second wall portion 71 are fitted to the boss portions 59b, the second wall portion 71 being forward of the vehicle body. Screws 60 are screwed to the boss portions 59b from forward of the second wall portion 71. The second wall portion 71 is secured to the front inner cover 32. Three components, the side mold 44, front inner cover 32, and front cover 31 are fastened together by screws 73.

Claims (1)
1. A vehicle body cover structure of a saddle type vehicle, comprising: a first cover member, covering a side of the vehicle, body; and v a second cover member, arranged opposite to the first 0 cover member to cover other sides of the vehicle body: an outer edge of the first cover member being joined 7 with an outer edge of the second cover member; wherein the vehicle body cover structure of a saddle type vehicle is characterized in that: an edge member is provided to be mounted across the outer edge of the first cover member and the second cover member; the edge member has a first wall part arranged at the side of the first cover member, a second wall part arranged at the side of the second cover member, and a joining wall part connecting the first wall part with the second wall part, the first wall part, the second wall part and the joining wall part forming an approximate U-shaped cross section; a projection part arranged on the outer edge of the first cover member and projecting toward the second cover member; the first wall part of the edge member abuts a back side of a surface of the outer edge of the first cover member opposite to the second cover member, and the second wall part of the edge member is engaged with the projection part of the outer edge of the first cover member such that the edge member is supported on. the first cover member.
