Abstract
Se refiere a un proceso para recuperar cobre de una alimentacion de proceso que incluye uno o mas componentes de la alimentacion contenidos en una alimentacion sulfurosa de metal basico, hierro, cobre y arsenico. La alimentacion del proceso y la solucion de enfriamiento acuosa se introducen en un paso de lixiviacion oxidativa a presion con una presion parcial de oxigeno mayor de 200 kPa para formar acido sulfurico libre, para solubilizar el cobre y otros metales de la alimentacion como compuestos sulfatos acuosos y para precipitar el arsenico como compuestos solidos de hierro y arsenico. Se extrae una lechada tratada que comprende una fase liquida que contiene acido sulfurico y sulfato de cobre, y solidos que contienen los compuestos de hierro y arsenico y la fase liquida se separa de los solidos. Para reducir la redisolucion del arsenico y para conservar la estabilidad de los compuestos solidos de hierro y arsenico, se controla uno o mas de: la temperatura, el nivel de acido libre y el tiempo de residencia de la lechada tratada. De la fase liquida separada se recupera cobre metalico
