QUE COMPRENDE: a) UNA ETAPA DE SEPARACION PRINCIPAL, DONDE LAS ARENAS QUE PORTAN PETROLEO SE CONFORMAN EN UNA PASTA ACUOSA CON AGUA Y SE SEPARA EN UNA FRACCION ENRIQUECIDA Y UN DESECHO DE ARCILLA ACUOSA DILUIDA; Y, b) UNA ETAPA DE SEDIMENTACION DE DESECHOS, DONDE DICHO DESECHO SE SEDIMENTA EN UNA O MAS LAGUNAS DE SEDIMENTACION PARA PROVEER UN SEDIMENTO DE ARCILLA SOLIDA Y UN SOBRENADANTE. LA ETAPA (b) COMPRENDE ALIMENTAR DICHO DESECHO EN UN POZO, FLOCULAR EL DESECHO MEZCLANDOLO CON UN FLOCULANTE POLIMERICO, SEDIMENTAR EL DESECHO FLOCULADO PARA PROPORCIONAR EN EL POZO UNA CAPA DE SEDIMENTO DE ARCILLA ESPESADA QUE SE PUEDE BOMBEAR.
