Abstract

Un proceso de recuperación de arenas que portan petróleo que comprende una etapa principal de separación. Las arenas que portan petróleo se conforman en una pasta acuosa en la etapa principal de separación con agua para producir una fracción enriquecida y un desecho de arcilla acuosa diluida. El desecho de arcilla acuosa diluida se sedimenta en una etapa e sedimentación de desechos en una o más lagunas de sedimentación para proveer un sedimento de arcilla sustancialmente sólida y un sobrenadante. El desecho de arcilla acuosa diluida se alimenta a un pozo y se flocula por medio del agregado de un floculante polimérico. La arcilla acuosa diluida floculada sedimenta para proveer una capa de sedimento de arcilla espesada que se puede bombear en la base del pozo.
