Abstract
The recycling of agricultural waste, mainly trunks of plantains left in the field, contributes to creating a fairly strong circular economy. Especially since the additional use of waste paper for the production of paper pulp is one of the strong elements of this invention. The final product: Paper that can be used in different forms (bag, cardboard, roll of paper, notebooks, etc.) brings real added value to the user. The protection of the environment through the reduction of deforestation is not negligible behind this invention. It was a question for us of defining a different way of producing biodegradable packaging with an interesting quality-cost ratio. We work from the trunk of plantain most often abandoned in the field by farmers, then we obtain fibres, then paper pulp and finally final paper: This description relates to the process of making paper from banana/plantain trunk and old recycled paper and any paper obtained by such a process.
Description
The invention relates to a process for manufacturing paper from banana trunks and old recycled paper and any paper obtained by such a process. These papers can be used in particular as packaging, notebooks, etc. The agricultural transformation that we are highlighting is a process for transforming agricultural waste (case of the 5 banana tree trunks) and recycled paper waste (from wood or any other raw materials) in paper, usable as packaging and miscellaneous (notebook, .....). In the past, it was quite difficult to provide quality packaging that both protects the environment by using plantain banana production waste, but also reducing deforestation by using waste paper abandoned or not in the streets....
The production of paper for packaging and miscellaneous to date and in the past is mainly through the recycling of waste paper, through the recycling of waste paper and the addition of wood as a raw material, through the use of wood as a raw material ; all of these methods have shortcomings that can be improved; our process simultaneously reduces deforestation by protecting the environment and recycling 15 agricultural waste (banana tree trunks).
Deforestation: Several countries around the world produce plantain extensively but do not effectively use banana production waste - trunks - to replace wood reducing deforestation.
Globally, 42% of commercially exploited wood is used to make paper and 17.20% of the wood used comes from virgin forests! That is to say natural forests whose biological richness must absolutely be preserved. However, recycled paper is an excellent illustration of the circular economy: the end product is also the raw material that will be used to be recycled into a new generation of product.
Introducing papers made from recycled paper on the other hand and banana trunks on the other hand helps reduce deforestation and a less brutal circular economy. Note that papermaking accounts for 11% of deforestation According to Coracle, the French Union of Cardboard, Paper and Cellulose Industries, in some countries 10% of the paper pulp consumed comes from non-certified wood, 30 of which certain source of deforestation.
Pollution par les emballages plastique et non revalorisation des déchets issus de la production de banane plantains : déchets qui produisent 108 000 tonnes de carbone par an.Pollution by plastic packaging and non-recycling of waste from the production of plantains: waste that produces 108,000 tonnes of carbon per year.
In addition, the consumer is increasingly attentive to the environment and favors recyclable materials, obtained by low-polluting processes, low or non-existent chemical additives and a fortiori whose manufacture makes it possible to recycle or exploit waste.

World banana production is 116 million tonnes, so banana cultivation generates a large biomass that is little or not exploited. Indeed, after harvesting the bunch of bananas, the pseudostem is cut and, since it has no value in itself, is generally not left on the plantation. The rotting of banana pseudo-stems on the ground increases the proliferation of diseases and parasites. Thus, solutions to exploit waste from banana plantations are sought.
Bananas (Musa spp.) are monocotyledonous plants grown in inter-tropical regions. They are non-woody herbaceous plants that can reach several meters in height. The pseudostem is made up of the petiole of the leaves. The heart of the pseudostem is formed by the flower stalk which will then give rise to the bunch of bananas.
After harvesting the bunch of bananas, the banana tree is cut. The pseudostem can then be transformed by the process which is the subject of the invention.
Ce papier pouvant être utilise dans divers domaines (industrie de l’emballage, cahier....)It is a process of revalorization of agricultural waste in paper in the form of plate or roll or any other form. This paper can be used in various fields (packaging industry, notebook, etc.)
One of the raw materials being banana/plantain fiber (from banana tree trunks) Once 1 extraction of the fiber by equipment equal or similar to a fiber extractor, the fiber is dried in the sun or any other similar drying mechanism .
The dry fiber is then boiled to remove the lignite and keep the cellulose (The dry fiber can be cut beforehand to speed up the cooking process or not).
The boiled fiber is then washed with water.
Equipment identical or similar to the Dutch pile is responsible for grinding the fiber to obtain a paper pulp. Recycled waste paper is added before, during or after shredding.
We thus obtain a pulp of paper from plantain trunks and recycled paper waste.
The paper pulp is then shaped, dried in the form of a paper plate, or roll, or goblet or.,..
The leaves thus obtained are then dried. Drying makes it possible to definitively fix 1 assembly. Drying may result from pressing and/or include an additional drying step.
L’épaisseur de la plaque de papier dépend fortement du dosage de pâte de papier par plaque ~ 3 ~The plates and/or rolls of paper thus obtained in accordance with the invention are relatively flexible and can be used in various fields. The thickness of the paper plate is highly dependent on the dosage of paper pulp per plate ~3~
In accordance with the method of the invention, a beam is cut out of the core of the pseudostem. The cut can be done by any means, preferably by a circular saw machine. Other cutting means can also be used such as a knife, band saw and other blades, as well as any means likely to clear a beam in the pseudostem. The dimensions of the plates obtained are adapted according to the uses.
As a priority and in order to obtain better quality sheets, the percentage of recycled paper and the percentage of fiber from banana tree trunks may be reviewed.
Of course, the invention is not limited to the mode of implementation described, but on the contrary encompasses any variant falling within the scope of the invention as defined by the claims.
