Abstract

oral rehydration composition comprising the following: 1-glutamic acid in a range of about 0.01% to about 0.40% w/w and monosodium glutamate in a range of about 0.05% to about 0.80% w/w; about 1.50% w/w glucose monohydrate; about 0.20% w/w sodium chloride; about 0.15% w/w potassium chloride; about 0.35% w/w glycine; about 0.30% w/w trisodiumcitrate; about 0.15% w/w sodium dihydrogen phosphate; about 0.10% w/w xanthan gum; 85% Steviol Glycoside extract in a range of about 0.01% to about 0.03% w/w; about 0.20% w/w citric acid monohydrate; hydrolyzed whey in a range of about 0.15% to about 1.00% w/w; about 1.00% w/w hydrolyzed wheat; comprises cereals as a protein source; comprises enzyme co- factors; comprises a monosaccharide. The oral rehydration composition can be used on humans or animals that suffer from diarrhea.

Claims (14)

CLAIMS . An oral rehydration composition, said oral rehydration ition being in a form selected from the group ting of ready—to—use and a concentrate to be diluted in water, wherein said composition comprises, when ready to use or after diluted in water, an aqueous solution selected from the group consisting of: aqueous solutions comprising L—glutamic acid in a range of 0.01% to 0.40% w/W, monosodium ate in a range of 0.05% to 0.80% w/w, 1.50% w/w glucose monohydrate, 0.20% w/w sodium chloride, 0.15% w/w potassium chloride, 0.15% w/w sodium dihydrogen phosphate, 0.10% W/w n gum, 0.35% W/W glycine, 0.20% w/w citric acid monohydrate, 85% SteViol Glycoside extract in a range of 0.01% to 0.03% w/w, 0.30% w/w trisodium citrate, 1.00% W/W hydrolyzed wheat, cereals as a protein source, enzyme co—factors, a monosaccharide, hydrolyzed whey in a range of 0.15% to
1.00% w/W, and the balance water; aqueous solutions sing 1.45% w/w glucose monohydrate, 0.26% W/w sodium chloride, 0.15% w/w potassium chloride, 0.30% w/w glycine, 0.10% w/w sodium dihydrogen phosphate, 0.10% w/w xanthan gum, 0.20% w/w citric acid monohydrate, 0.15% w/w hydrolysed whey protein, 0.04% w/w L- glutamic acid, 0.25% w/W monosodium glutamate, 0.001% w/w 85% Steviol Glycoside extract, and the balance water; aqueous solutions comprising 1.50% w/w glucose monohydrate, 0.26% w/W sodium de, 0.15% w/w ium chloride, 0.40% w/w glycine, 0.29% w/w trisodium citrate, 0.05% w/w xanthan gum, 1.00% w/w hydrolysed wheat protein, 0.04% w/w L—glutamic acid, 0.04% w/w monosodium glutamate, and the balance water; aqueous solutions comprising 1.50% w/w glucose monohydrate, 0.26% w/w sodium chloride, 0.15% W/W potassium chloride, 0.40% w/w glycine, 0.10% w/w sodium dihydrogen phosphate, 0.05% w/w xanthan gum, 1.00% w/W hydrolysed Wheat protein, 0.04% w/w L—glutamic acid, 0.04% w/W monosodium glutamate, and the balance water; aqueous ons sing 1.50% W/W glucose monohydrate, 0.26% W/w sodium chloride, 0.15% w/w potassium chloride, 0.40% w/w glycine, 0.29% w/w trisodium citrate, 0.05% w/w xanthan gum, 1.00% w/w hydrolyzed Whey protein, 0.04% w/w L-glutamic acid, 0.04% w/w monosodium glutamate, and the balance water; and, s solutions comprising 1.50% w/w glucose monohydrate, 0.26% w/w sodium chloride, 0.15% w/w ium chloride, 0.40% w/w glycine, 0.10% w/w sodium dihydrogen phosphate, 0.05% w/w xanthan gum, 1.00% w/w hydrolysed whey protein, 0.04% W/w L—glutamic acid, 0.04% w/w monosodium ate, and the balance water.
2.The oral rehydration ition ing to claim 1, wherein said composition is in the form of a powder concentrate.
3.The oral rehydration composition according to claim 1, wherein said composition is in a form selected from the group consisting of gels, sprays, and quick ve tablets.
4.The oral rehydration composition according to claim 1, wherein said composition is an ic solution.
5.The oral rehydration composition according to claim 4, wherein said the tonicity of said solution is comparable to the tonicity of a 0.9% solution of sodium chloride.
6.The oral rehydration composition according to claim 1, wherein said composition is a hypotonic solution.
7.The oral rehydration composition according to claim 1, wherein said composition is a hypertonic solution.
8.The oral rehydration composition according to claim 1, wherein said composition is tailored to suit the ?avoring preferences of different species or individuals.
9.The oral rehydration composition according to claim 2, wherein said concentrate comprises enzyme tors.
10. The oral rehydration composition according to claim 2, n said concentrate ses a monosaccharide.
11. The use of the oral rehydration composition according to claim 1 in the preparation of a medicament for preventing ation, excluding for use in non—human animals.
12. The use according to claim 11, wherein said medicament is for use in prevention of dehydration in an individual suffering from diarrhea.
13. A method for preventing dehydration in a non—human animal, wherein said method comprises: preparing an oral ation composition according to claim 1; and, stering said oral rehydration composition to an individual in need thereof.
14. The method according to claim 13, wherein said non—human animal is suffering from diarrhea.
