Abstract

An amphibious vehicle including a hull and a wheel assembly. The wheel assembly may comprise at least one wheel and a drive motor. The wheel is rotatably mounted and the drive motor is coupled to the at least one wheel and configured to rotate a wheel. The wheel assembly (200) can be capable of retracting to within the hull, and a cover (250) can lie over top of the wheel (232) in it’s retracted position. The cover can be attached to the actuator by a cover linkage (not shown). The arrangement of the cover linkage could cause the cover to automatically open and/or close as the wheel is retracted or extended.
