Abstract

The invention relates to an ink cartridge configured to contain ink, suitable for use in an ink-jet type printer. More particularly, the invention relates to a cartridge for supplying a fluid to a fluid ejection apparatus having a fluid supply tube, the cartridge comprising: a fluid accommodation portion; an air intake port configured to introduce air into the fluid accommodation portion; and a fluid supply port 280 connectable with the fluid ejection apparatus, wherein the fluid supply port 280 includes: an inner wall surface 286; an end 37a forming an opening 288 which the fluid supply tube 30 is configured to be inserted through; a fluid connection port 277 formed in the inner wall surface 286, connected with the fluid accommodation portion and configured to flow out the fluid from the accommodation portion to the fluid supply tube via a supply member 30; and a connection port 32 protruded from the inner wall surface 286 and arranged to connect outside of the fluid supply port with the air intake port, wherein the connection port 32 is not in contact with the end 37a. Whereby the invention ameliorates disadvantages of the prior art such as ink from the fluid accommodation portion leaking from the cartridge before use, wasting product and contaminating the user, printer or printing medium.
