Abstract

Disclosed is a method for facilitating payments from a plurality of payers to a plurality of payees by a controller. The controller is able to perform: i) Associating with each payee, information on a payee financial institution account and at least one payment code. ii) Monitoring, using financial institution provided electronic systems a plurality of financial institution accounts for receipt of payments. The plurality of financial institution accounts includes at least one financial institution account at each of at least two financial institutions and wherein the payments are identified with a payment code. iii) Identifying the payee the payment is for based on the payment code, then notifying the payee that the payment has been received, and transferring the payment into the payee financial institution account using financial institution provided electronic systems.
