Abstract

623697 A wall connector, for fixing of walls (10) to floor and roof (6) systems for single and multi-storey timber-framed buildings is disclosed. The connector has a plate of wood or wood derivative (1a), either square or rectangular in cross-section, with a continuous groove (3) in one face. A strip (2) is inserted and glue-bonded into the plate groove. The strip in use is glued (4, 5) to the roof (6) or floor at their point of contact. The plate and the strip act in unison to absorb and distribute roof and wall loadings to the building’s floor system, increasing the sheer loading capacity of the building.
