Abstract

Disclosed is a dishwasher with an internal dryer using a reversibly dehydratable drying material or zeolite. The dishwasher comprises periodically washing items while supported in an interior of the dishwasher, to the action of heated fluid. A reversibly dehydratable drying material or zeolite suitable for exothermic drying, heats the fluid. Air is also conducted through the drying material, and then the air, and heated fluid driven out of the drying material, can be conducted through an outlet opening through to the interior. The outlet opening is cooled by circulating or wetting the outlet with a cooling agent or water using the circulation pump that applies fluid to the items being washed. The circulation pump operates at a lower speed when the outlet opening is cooled than when fluid is applied to the items to be washed.
