Abstract

Disclosed is an anchor for subsurface installation in a ground surface, under water in a seabed. The anchor comprises tubular cylindrical anchor body; a spiral or tapered helical threaded anchoring feature for engaging with a ground surface; and anchor engagement protrusions or projections for engaging with complementary engagement features of a drive head. The anchor body, anchoring feature and anchor engagement features being integrally formed as a single component. The drive head is able to engage with the anchor engagement features and rotate in one direction to install the entire anchor in a subsurface position so that it is fully submerged in the ground surface; and the drive head is able to rotate in a second reverse direction after installation to disengage from the anchor engagement features to leave the entire anchor in the subsurface position.
