Abstract

588784 Disclosed is a protective device for protecting the heel of the hand for use in sports or work. The device comprises an impact-resistant protective portion and a securing means for securing the protective portion to the hand. The protective portion of polymer material has a generally uniform thickness and is arranged to cover, in use, the heel of the hand, the protective portion being configured and dimensioned that it is generally flat or contoured to fit the with the heel and does not extend towards the fingers or the wrist substantially beyond the heel of the hand. The maximum extent of the protective portion in the direction from the wrist joint to the palm of the hand is less than 60mm.
