587395 A carton, carton blank for folding into a carton, for a package of 12 drinks cans with tapered ends, includes top 20, bottom 12, and side 16, 24 walls connected at fold or hinge lines 30, 32, ,44 by corner panels 14, 18, 22 and 26. End closure panels 50a, 52a, 54a, 58a are connected by fold lines to the respective top, bottom and side panels. Articulated web structures (exemplary 82a, 84a) are connected by fold lines to and between the adjacent end closure panels. The fold line 36a connecting the first portion of the articulated structure to the end closure panel 54a of the top panel 20 is linearly aligned with the fold line 36 connecting the corner panel 18 with the top panel, and the fold line 34a connecting the first portion of the articulated structure 86a to the second portion of the articulated structure 84a is linearly aligned with the fold line 34 connecting the corner panel 18 between the top panel 20 and the side panel to the side panel 16.
