Abstract

A carton 330 having a reinforced carrying handle, comprising a series of carton walls including a composite end wall, a top wall 314, a bottom wall 318 and a pair of side walls 312, 314. The composite end wall comprises a top end closure panel 324a, 324b hinged to the top wall 314 and having a first-hand gripping means 350a, a first handle reinforcing panel having a second hand gripping means disposed in alignment with the first hand gripping means, and a bottom end closure panel hinged to the bottom wall 318 and having a third hand gripping means disposed in alignment with the first and second hand gripping means. The first handle reinforcing panel 350a is hinged to the top end closure panel by a fold line disposed opposite to and angled acutely to the hinged connection between the top end closure panel and the top wall 314
