Abstract

A method for reducing edge glare in an implantable ophthalmic lens having an optic edge surface comprising the step of applying a hydrophilic coating material to the optic edge surface wherein the coating material comprises an ophthalmically acceptable hydrophobic (meth)acrylic polymer and an ophthalmically acceptable hydrophilic polymer in an amount sufficient to reduce or eliminate edge glare when the coating material is hydrated, and wherein the coating material has a Tg less than 37°C when hydrated.
