Abstract
A portable telephone of which the soundless state during a handover is shortened or eliminated. During a handover, whether or not a communication channel additionally allocated in response to a link channel setup request (S303) sent to the base station after the switching is a channel using a time slot of a timing at which the connection to the base station is established while maintaining the speech with the base station before the switching is judged (S306). Only when a communication channel through which both the continuation of speech and the connection are possible is allocated, the handover is performed uninterruptively.
