Abstract

A passenger location system includes radio transceivers located around the terminal facility, and each passenger to be located carries a radio transponder tag which in response to interrogation by a transceiver responds to several of the transceivers with the identity of the passenger carrying the responder which is stored in the memory of the responder. The location of the responder can be determined from the response signals received by the several transceivers.
