The present invention relates to dietary supplements and related means and methods.
The present invention relates to dietary compositions believed to have a role is precipitating weight loss and which in any even can be a worthwhile dietary supplement. In this latter rale such compositions are believed to favour lean muscle mass retention/accumulation over that of fat.
The compositions of the present invention have the object of providing such a composition or at least providing a composition containing collagen hydrosylate and/or aloe vera.
In a first aspect the present invention consists in a dietary composition comprising or including (on a weight for weight basis)
from 1 to 55% collagen hydrosylate,
from 0.3 to 0.5% aloe vera (when expressed as the powder),
from 0.1 to 10 % hydroxy citric acid or other form of citric acid (as hereinbefore defined is Garcinia Cambogia extract or Garcinia Quasita),
from 0.1 to 10% L-carnitine, and water.
Preferably said hydroxy citric acid is between 0.1 to 10%
The aloe vera powder may be freeze or spray dried and is preferably 200:1 ratio powder.
Preferably said composition has a pH in the range of from 3 to 5 and most preferably 3.5 to 4.5.
Preferably said composition includes stabilising and/or flavouring and/or preserving compounds.
Preferably said composition includes other dietary components.
Preferably said composition includes an acid selected from citric, lactic and tartaric.
Preferably said composition includes calcium pyruvate.
Preferably said composition includes N-acetyl carnitine.
Preferably said composition includes a chromium compound or composition.
Preferably said composition comprises (w/w)
collagen hydrosylate aloe vera (when expressed as the powder)
hydroxy citric acid
L-carnitine calcium pyruvate citric acid
N-acetyl carnitine

Preferably the chromium composition is chromium picolinate, chromium polynicotinate or chromium soy protein chelate.
Preferably the hydroxy citric acid or other form of citric acid is Garcinia Cambogia or Garcinia Quasita.
In other forms the present invention consists in a dietary composition (eg; to be used as either a supplement or weight loss programme) comprising or including from 1 to 55% collagen hydrosylate,
from 0.3 to 0.5% aloe vera (when expressed as the powder), [200:1 ration powder -
freeze or spray dried]
from 0.1 to 10 % hydroxy citric acid,
from 0.1 to 10% L-carnitine,
from 0.1 to 5% preservative(s),
from 0.1 to 50% pH providing compound(s),
from 0.1 to 50% stabilisers),
from 0.1 to 20% flavour/sweetener and/or flavour enhancing compound(s),
(optionally other components)
and at least 40% water,
the pH of the composition being from 3 to 5.
Preferably the composition includes a chromium compound or composition eg; about 0.001%.
Preferably the chromium composition is chromium picolinate, chromium polynicotinate or chromium soy protein chelate.
In a further aspect the present invention consists in a method of preparing a dietaty composition in according with the present invention, said method being substantially as hereinbefore described. Intellectual ProDertv

The function of the chromium compound/composition is preferably to improve insulin metabolism which has direct but complex control of bodyfat and lipid metabolism.
The preferred compound/composition is chromium picolinate, chromium polynicotinate or chromium soy protein chelate. Other forms could be inorganic (eg; oxides) or organics (eg; aminoate, arginate, ascorbate, aspartate, citrate, glycinate and succinates), mineral yeast (chromium yeast).
The quantity is at about 0.001% w/w which preferably for the composition set out above is about 150 micrograms per 15 ml serving. Minimum potential limits are I pig through to maximum levels 1500//g per serving.
All components are expressed on a weight to weight of the composition basis and the pH is from 3.5 to 4.5.
The preferred composition is prepared by the following procedure;
1) 90% w/w of the water (demineralised) is charged into a 5000 kg vessel.
2) A premix of lipoic acid, potassium sorbate and sodium benzoate is then added along with the citric acid into the vessel and dissolved with rapid mixing.
3) The aloe vera powder is then added and is fully dissolved with rapid mixing. 'nteilectual Propertv

4) With slowed mixing the collagen hydrosylate p.o\MerW thefi a*$lel
) With mixing the collagen hydrosylate is then allowed to hydrate over, for example, 12 to 24 hours.
6) After resumed rapid mixing with an ensuring of full dispersion the L-carnitine, N-acetyl carnitine, pyruvate (preferably calcium pyruvate), hydroxy citric acid (eg; CITRINK™ of Sabinsa Corporation of USA) and glycerin are added.
7) The CHROMIUM compound or composition premixed with water is then added.
8) An earlier premix of the methyl paraben and sorbitol is then added under rapid mixing.
9) Then the flavouring (eg; CARA-MIA™ cherry/UNTVERSAL/BBA/ ROBORTET/H&R), the colouring (eg; carmine) and sweetener (eg; NUTRASWEET™) are then added rapid mixing.
) The balance of the water is then added.
11) The product is then filtered (eg; 10 micron final filter) prior to be placed in an appropriate container.
Appropriate containers are plastic or glass. The consistency of the product can best be described as a viscous liquid.
Some of the constituents are optional and any appropriate equivalent may be used to achieve a similar function. For example as a preservative [method such as ultra/micro sterile filtration, ozone sterilisation or radiation may be used], as a stabiliser or buffer [eg; magnesium aspartate or fruit acid], as a flavour enhancer [glycerine], as a pH adjuster [citric, malic or tartaric acid], as a flavour [natural, nature identical or artificial], as a sweetener [natural sweeteners eg; licorice extract].
