NOTE. The claims must relate to a single invention, must be clear and succinct, and must be fairly based on the matter disclosed in the specification. They should form in brief a clear statement of that which constitutes the invention. Applicants should be cartful that their claims include neither more nor less than they desire to protect by their patent. Any unnecessary multiplicity of claims or prolixity of language should be avoided.
Claims should not be made_^qr the efficiency or advantages of the invention.
•purpose of being used as an amusement toy once the ice block or ice cream has been consumed.
Standard ice block sticks are generally made from wood material and are usually discarded after use. This can create a disposal and litter problem. The manufacture of wood sticks also requires a continuous supply of timber resource.
The objective of the present invention is to go at least some way towards avoiding the above disadvantages, by providing an ice block stick that will become a collectable amusement toy,
once the ice block or ice cream has been consumed. The intended construction material will be a suitable plastic that can be recycled in the event of disposal.
One preferred form of the invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawings, of which;
Fig.l shows the stick invention in its primary role as an ice block or ice cream stick.
Fig.2 shows three sticks 1,2 and 3, demonstrating the two primary methods of interconnection for the purpose of constructing objects of interest or playthings. Method one shows stick 2 in position to enter the centre keyhole of stick 1, when stick 2 is pushed in untill any pair of opposing side slots line up with the keyhole of stick 1, stick 2 can then be rotated to interconnect the two sticks together. The keyholes will also allow for another method of connection using specially designed dowel type lugs that can be pressed firmly through the centre hole of any keyholeand continue through into the keyhole of another stick to create a moveable hinge type pivot. The lugs will also be designed so as to be suitable to attach or connect extras such as wheels to the keyhole of the stick.
Method two of interconnection is shown by stick 3 which is in position to clip together with stick 1 by pushing the end slot of stick 3 into the side slot of stick 1. In the same fashion sticks can be connected together end to end to form a continuous line of unlimited sticks or in the same fd%ion sticks can be connected together side slot to side slot.
The sticks shall be moulded from suitable recycleable food contact plastic material of suitable quality and strength to ensure safty and durabillity. They may also be produced in various colours to make them a more interesting and attractive play thing.
Claims (2)
1. An ice block/cream stick constructed from plastic that can be recycled or used as a construction toy by interconnecting sticks together using a system of six slots on each side of the stick and one slot at each end of the stick, enableing sticks to be clipped together at right angles to one another by clipping side slot into side slot and end slot into end slot, and end slot intih side slot.
2. An ice block/cream stick as in claim 1, whereby cooperating slots are placed at intervals opposite each other along both edges or sides of the stick and one identical cooperating slot at each end of the stick so that sticks can be clipped together end to end and form a continuous line of sticks. stick is flat and elongated with three keyholes through the flat centre line of the stick, placed one at each enf. and one in the centre, enables sticks to be connected together by inserting one stick into the keyhole of another stick and rotating the inserted stick when any pair of side slots line up with the keyhole, and also the keyholes serve the purpose of forming a pivot or hinge type connection when a specially designed dowel type lug is inserted through the keyholes of two sticks to form a connection between them, and the lugs will also be designed for the purpose of attaching other extras such as wheels and propellars to the keyhole so that they can rotate on the dowel while it is firmly held in the keyhole. 4jC An ice block/cream stick as described and as illustrated in the accompanying drawings.
