Abstract

The invention provides a controlled-release pharmaceutical formulation for oral administration consisting essentially of: an active drug compound; low molecular weight polyethylene oxide; hydroxypropylmethyl cellulose; tabletting excipients; and optionally one or more enteric polymers. Formulations according to the invention produce a constant rate of release of drug in in vitro models of the gastrointestinal tract. Also claimed is a process for the production of the pharmaceutical composition above.
