Framgangsmåte for å finne lekkasjer i vannforsynings- systemet, hvor vannmåleren (2) blir avlest, og endringer som opptrer blir notert. Endringer blir observert i løpet av en eller flere ønskete måleperioder (T), og tiden det tar (t: t, t,, t2>) for en kjent mengde vann å strømme i løpet av måle- perioden, blir målt med en måleindikatoren. Resultatene som blir funnet i løpet av måleperioden blir sammenlignet med en standard-verdi eller med hverandre, og bekrefter/ avkrefter en mulig lekkasje.
