Abstract

Fremgangsmåte for diagnostisering av cøliaki sykdom og beslektede tilstander hos et individ kjent for eller mistenkt for å ha en slik tilstand, som omfatter å bringe en kroppsvæske fra individet inneholdende antistoff spesielt for tilstanden, i kontakt med en suspensjon av celler fra en udødelig cellelinje med et epitopsete spesifikt for antistoffet, og deretter bestemme graden av binding av antistoff til cellene. Humane navlestrengceller er blitt funnet å være spesielt egnet for anvendelse i denne frem- gangsmåte. Anvendelse av en cellelinje betyr at vesentlige mengder av materialet for antistoff- estimeringen kan fremstilles ved dyrking av cellene og lagring av dem for fremtidig anvendelse med svært lav kostnad.
