Abstract
Hver av de N overflatebilder, brukt til å gjenskape borehullet eller overflatebildet av kjerneprøven, segmenteres til sammenhengende komponenter (C(12), C (11), ...) som grupperes i sammenhengende regioner (C(8)), som hver berører både de høyre og venstre kanter av bildet. Etter glatting av konturene, re- presenteres de sammenhengende regioner i form av et bilde, kalt lagbildet, som er representativt for de stratifiserte lag. Konturene tilstede på de N lag- bilder blir tilpasset for å konstruere de sinusoida- le kurver for laggrensene. Oppfinnelsen er spesielt verdifull for å bestemme stratifiseringen av et geo- logisk miljø.
