Abstract

Communication units (13) are interconnected by an electrical cable that provides both mains power and also acts as a data transmission line. The bus units have input /output interfaces (8), microprocessors (6), digital signal processors (7) together with transmission (5) and receiver (4) filters and a mains coupler (3). The transmission and reception of data are maintained in a synchronised state and maintained when there are variations in mains frequency.
