Abstract

The invention relates to a device for measuring the time element of a power switch to synchronise two electric mains systems (1, 2). According to the invention, the time element of a power switch is measured at a time at which only one mains system (2) is live and the power switch (6) to be measured is broken. A voltage measuring module (11) measures the difference in the momentary values between the fixed switch contact (6b) and the movable switch contact (6c) of the main contact (6a) of a phase, with the measurement process beginning when the switching command "ON" is applied to the power switch (6). The timing stage of the time measurement module (12) starts at the beginning of measurement and stops at the end. Here, the end of measurement is that time at which the voltage difference between the two mains systems (1, 2) drops below a small defined percentage of the rated voltage for a short defined time. The invention makes it possible to measure the power switch time elements without having to perform any work in the switching installation.
