Abstract

Fremgangsmåte og apparat for å registrere objekter (2), særlig miner som er spredt utover og gravd ned i bakken i et terrengområde (l), eller for å bestemme de karakteristiske bølgeutbredelsesegen- skaper for akustiske bølger i bakken i dette område. Man benytter flere akustiske trans- duktorer Ti og prøvemål Cj som fordeles langs sine respektive grenselinjer Fl, F2 langs området. Etter å ha fastlagt en optimal arbeidsfrekvens utføres kart- legging av de karakteristiske utbredelses- egenskaper for bølgene i bakken, særlig den gjennomsnittlige utbredelseshastighet Vij, f.eks. ved å utføre flere påfølgende signalreverseringer av de mottatte reflek- terte signaler fra prøvemålene og tilbake til transduktorene, etter fokusering mot de enkelte prøvemål. Registreringen av objekter utføres ved hjelp av denne kart- legging ved å fokusere mot ett og ett objekt (2) ved signalreversering og ved å søke etter minst to transduktorer hvis signalutbredelsestid er kortest.
