Abstract

En fremgangsmåte for sporregulering i forbindelse med et datakassettbånddrev som omfatter en fler- kanals hodemontasje, en posisjoneringsanordning for regulerbar posisjonering av den flcrkanals hode- montasje transversalt til en transportbane for et bånd som drives ved hjelp av drevet, og driv- elcktronikk som reagerer på et servobæresignal. Fremgangsmåten initialiserer drivanordningen for datakasscttbåndcl ved å bringe posisjoneringsan- ordningen til å bevege hodcinontasjcn til en for- håndsvalg! transvcrsalstilling. Deretter blir båndet beveget langs transportbanen og posisjoneringsan- ordningen blir beveget for i det vesentlige å mini- mere et tilbakekoblingssignal som er utledet fra servobæresignalet. Hodemontasjen blir beveget skrittvis et forste forutbestemt antall skritt i en første transversalretning inntil servobæresignalet ikke detekteres. Hvis servobæresignalet ikke detek- teres, så blir posisjoneringsanordningen ført skritt- vis for å bevege hodemontasjen et annet forutbe- stemt antall skritt i en annen transversalretning for å lokalisere et referansespor.
