Abstract

GPI-bundne proteiner blir overført, særlig in vivo fra vertebrate bæreceller til celler fra et målverte- bratvev. F.eks. for hensikter som xenogen transplantasjon blir celler som bærer kom- plementinhibisjonsfaktor(er) spesifikke for recipientarten, f.eks. genetisk konstruerte rode blod- celler inkubert med transplanterbare celler av en andre diskordant donorart inntil overføring av faktoren(e) skjer. Overføringen kan skje in vivo eller in vitro og de faktorbærende celler kan være normale celler i recipientarten eller genetisk konstruerte celler i donorarten som uttrykker et gen som koder for en komplementinhibisjonsfaktor(er) i recipientarten. Fremgangsmåten er spesielt nyttig i modifiserte griseorganer for xenotransplantasjon inn i mennesker.
