Det foreligger en kode-eksiterende, lineært forut- sigende (CELP) kode- eller dekodeanordning hvori en kodevektor som sendes med en kodebok som for eksempel en stokastisk kodebok (321) blir adaptivt omformet l overensstemmelse med en stemmeorgan-analyseinformasjon (LPC) slik at en høy kvalitet på talegjengivelse oppnås med en lav kodetakt. For å oppnå en lignende virkning finnes det dessuten en pulslignende eksiteringskodebok (322) dannet av isolert puls, l tillegg til den adaptive eksiteringskodebok (320) og den stokastlske eksiteringskodebok (321) slik at enten den stokastiske ekslterlngskodebok (321) eller den pulslignende eksiteringskodebok (322) valgvis kan benyttes for å frembringe en stemmeorganparameter som en parameter med et lineært spektrumpar.
