Abstract

Improved syntheses of glycosyl-1 or -2r phosphates using both chemical and enzymatic procedures are also described. The phosphorylated glycosides are then used to prepare sugar nucleotides which in turn are used as donor sugars for glycosylation of acceptor carbohydrates. Use of a particularly preferred method for fucosylation is also described.
