Abstract
Frozen roundfish, such as cod-like white fish, salmon or trout with a generally straight shape, are split longitudinally centrally by the fish, so that the bulk of the spine is removed, and each of the frozen fish halves is then cleaned and examined for impurities, where they are still frozen fish portions are packaged and frozen. With the intention of placing the fish under the cleavage it can be frozen in an angled shape or with raised fins. Once the entire frozen fish body has been placed with its vertical plane of symmetry in a well-known position, the fish may be retained by means of fasteners (59) with a portion (68) comprising a fluid absorbing and flexible material which may be locked to impact against the exterior of frozen fish and frozen to this. The grip of the fasteners in the fish is so strong that it will not be broken when dividing the fish.
