Abstract
Det er beskrevet en fremgangsmåte for å simulere kryssbrønn seismiske data mellom første og andre adskilte brønner. I følge oppfinnelsen, brukes en overflateseismisk kilde til å generere et seismisk signal ved en posisjon på jordens overflate vesent- lig på linje med, men ikke mellom, brønnene og nærm- ere den første brønn enn den andre brønn. En rekke nedhulls seismiske mottakere er plassert i den før- ste brønn og i det minste en nedhulls seismisk mot- taker er plassert i den andre brønn. Den faktiske ankomsttid av det sseismiske signal ved hver mottak- er i den første og andre brønn registreres. For hver mottaker i den andre brønn, sammenlignes så den faktiske ankomsttid med et esstimat av den seismiske gangtid beregnet på basis av et antatt interbrønn seismisk hastighetsfelt. Hvis estimatet av den seis- miske gangtid ikke er lik den faktiske ankomsttid for hver seismisk mottaker i den andre brønn, modi- fiseres det antatte interbrønn seismiske hastighets- felt og beregningen gjentas. På denne måten kan det faktiske interbrønn seismiske hastighetsfelt bestem- mes .
