1534004 Well logging SCHLUMBERGER Ltd 19 Nov 1975 [27 May 1975] 47978/75 Heading G1G In a method of well logging, waves received by an array of four receivers R 1- 4 separated from each other and from a transmitter T by known distances are correlated in a variable correlation window (74) Fig. 2, (not shown) by a processor 40 using various values of transit times #T based on a spread of assumed probable wave velocities. The value of #T giving the highest correlation is recorded as the tool 10 is moved up the borehole. The processing may be digital or analogue Fig. 8, (not shown).
