Abstract
Geophysical seismic wave prospecting is performed by the transmission of three non-correlated waves (S, to S3) from respective sources (V1 to V3) into a medium. The waves are reflected from various surfaces (R) in the medium and monitored upon reflection by a number of geophones (G). The waves are generated in long bursts from each transmitter (V) which end simultaneously to initiate a reflected wave detection interval. The waves are sinusoidal and of constant amplitude but each transmitter operates initially at a different frequency. The wave frequency alters linearly for each transmitter during the bursts resulting in the non-correlatability which enables phase relationships at the geophones to aid medium analysis.
