Et isolasjonslegeme (10) som av- skjermer kontaktarroen (4) er på sine ender forsynt med skråflater (11) på en slik måte at alt etter dreieretningen av kontaktarmen (4) ved kobling til den ene eller den andre kontaktgivende ende (4a,4b) dannes en mot koblingslysbuen rettet strøming av en slukkegass. Flerposisjons dreiebryteren (1) egner seg spesielt som omkobler til bruk i mellom- spenningsnett.
