Abstract

An elongated light fixture has a housing (11) and a transparent cover trough (18) attached thereto, a seal (20) and a device being inserted therebetween. Provided for the purpose of detachably connecting the trough (18) to the housing (11) is a device having an externally actuatable transmission for driving at least one actuating element which extends in the housing and with which at least one locking element (23) for fixing the trough (18) to the housing (11) cooperates. In order to achieve stress-free retention of the trough (18) on the housing (11), the locking elements (23) in the housing (11) are provided as rotatably mounted hooks which, driven by the actuating elements (28), are pressed in the locking state with their free hook-shaped end (25) against one projection each on the trough (18), and thus press the free edge of the trough (18) against the housing (11). Arranged in addition on each hook (57) is a spring (69) which loads the hook in its pressing-in direction against the projection on the trough (18), there being provided on the actuating elements (28) means which upon opening press the hooks away from the projection against the force of the spring, and release the springs upon closure. <IMAGE>
