The present invention generally relates to enclosure technology for electrotechnical protective components and safety in this context. More particularly, the invention relates to embedded circuit breakers, earth fault circuit breakers, earth fault circuit breakers, circuit breakers, manual motor protection switches and the like, or combinations of such possibly together with other electrotechnical material.
Specifically, the invention relates to a molded-in protective component according to claim 1, comprising safety devices for handling ionized gases formed by short-circuit currents in the protective component.
Bakgrunn for oppfinnelsen Background for the invention
I denne sammenheng ligger spenningsnivået typisk under lkV og mest In many contexts, it is appropriate to use modular, electrotechnical components in challenging environments. In this context, the voltage level is typically below lkV and at most
Andre eksempler på krevende omgivelser er aggressiv atomsfære, høytrykksvasking, talkum, typically from 100 to 400 volts. The surroundings may, for example, be particularly damp, dusty or exposed to the risk of explosion in connection with explosive gases. Other examples of demanding environments are aggressive atomic spheres, high-pressure washing, talc,
Naturally, such environments make special demands on the equipment. Requirements of this nature are dealt with in various standards, regulations and norms and more. Examples of current ones are given below.
NEK 400 is a standard drawn up by the Norwegian Electrotechnical Committee (NEK), and deals with requirements for low-voltage electrical installations.
The FEL regulations ("Regulations on electrical low-voltage installations with guidance") lay down the requirements for low-voltage installations in terms of fire, function and electrical safety. NEK 4 00 acts as a guide for how to achieve this via specific technical requirements.
The IP system is a system for specifying the degree of enclosure of electrical equipment, that is, the equipment's protection against the ingress of solid objects and water. It is an international standard defined in IEC 60529 published by the International Electrotechnical Commission. In Norway, it is translated by the Norwegian Electrotechnical Committee as EN NEK 60529. The degree of protection is denoted by the letters IP (abbreviation for "international protection rating") followed by two digits.
German standard DIN 40050-9 surpasses IEC 60529 by a designation, IP69K, for equipment that can withstand high pressure, high temperatures and strong water flow. The test standard for IP69K specifies a nozzle supplied with water at a temperature of 80 °C, a pressure of 8-10 MPa (80-100 bar) and a water flow of 14-16 L/min. IP69K was originally developed for vehicles, especially those that need regular heavy cleaning, but is now also used in other areas such as the food industry.
Ex-equipment, or Explosion-protected equipment, characterizes equipment, both electrical and non-electrical, which is subject to special approval and/or certification according to European or international standards from IEC/TC31, CLC/TC31 or CEN 305. In Norway, this equipment applies according to Norwegian regulation according to ATEX directive 94/9, called FUSEX. The standards that regulate this are: the NEK EN 60079 series or for non-electrical equipment the NS EN 13463 series.
The "Low Voltage Directive" is the overall regulation within the EEA area for low-voltage electrical equipment. The requirements in the directive are included in the regulation on electrical equipment (feu) from 1995 and the regulation is enforced by the Directorate for Community Safety and Preparedness (DSB).
Demanding environments generally require the protection of electrotechnical systems that must operate in such environments. In what follows, we will describe examples of problems related to low-voltage switchgear more specifically.
In dry environments such as a desert, dust ingress will be a problem. Dust ingress can hinder mechanical function, increase frictional wear, reduce electrical contact and (as a consequence of the points above) reduce service life and increase maintenance costs. In humid environments such as inside a lamppost, ingress of water or condensation will be a problem. Moisture can, for example, lead to reduced electrical contact, short-circuit problems, earth faults, contact hazards and increased corrosion. These phenomena will also lead to increased maintenance costs and reduced service life. In environments with explosive gases, leakage into switchgear could cause an explosion hazard.
A more concrete example of a current issue is the installation of automatic fuses in light poles. The environment inside a light pole can be very humid, for example in the form of condensation due to temperature fluctuations. Condensation will form inside the cavity in the light pole and on equipment placed in it. Condensed moisture will also be able to flow along vertical elements and thereby penetrate insufficiently encapsulated elements that are mounted inside the post.
The issue of installing automatic fuses in light poles has been brought up to date in recent years. In the past, single-phase fuses satisfied the relevant standards, but now protection is required in both phases. This is not possible with the help of fuses, which were previously frequently used in this connection.
It is well known to mount electrotechnical protective components in boxes to increase the degree of enclosure. An example of a common solution according to the state of the art is a box for encapsulating circuit breakers. However, such a solution involves a number of problems. To achieve a degree of protection from IP65 and above, the lids of the boxes must be fixed with a number of locking points. Furthermore, the boxes should be mounted in a controlled environment with the correct tightening of any contact screws and gland nuts. Any cable entry can cause problems with unwanted water penetration due to condensation. Furthermore, screws that are through and screws for lids can cause problems in securing the IP rating.
Solutions according to the state of the art will reduce problems of the nature described at the outset. However, a number of issues will not be resolved as indicated above. A first problem is that the degree of enclosure will not be sufficient. Moisture can penetrate the box or form on the inside of the box in the form of condensation. As a result, subsequent problems will arise in the form of, for example, reduced functionality, reduced safety, increased maintenance costs and reduced lifespan as described. The sealing problems are exacerbated by the fact that the box consists of a number of parts that must be assembled together, a passage for various elements such as fastening devices in the form of screws, for example, electrical cables. Furthermore, solutions according to the state of the art entail problems during assembly, for example by manually tightening screws. Furthermore, certain current system solutions will either be impossible, or complex and expensive. Maintenance can also be complicated and expensive. Acquisition and maintenance costs and thus lifetime costs can be high.
A further central problem in the state of the art is safety in connection with short-circuit currents in the protective component where expanding ionized gases are formed which cause danger in that an embedded electrotechnical component could explode. Such an explosion will pose a safety risk for personnel who are close to the embedded electrotechnical component. In addition, an explosion could damage the component itself and any other equipment in the vicinity. Consequential damage is also a danger in this context.
There is therefore still a need to solve a number of problems as discussed above. These problems are largely solved by the present invention.
Oppsummering av oppfinnelsen Summary of the invention
In general, the purposes of the invention are to solve problems with the state of the art as described in the previous chapter. The purposes are more specifically described below.
An overarching purpose of the present invention is to provide a solution that can be used in more demanding environments in the form of, for example, moisture, dust, aggressive atmospheres and the risk of explosion.
Further purposes of the invention are increased safety, longer service life, lower acquisition costs, lower installation and operating costs, and easier and safer installation.
A further purpose of the present invention is to provide a solution which provides an improved degree of enclosure for electrotechnical protective components.
A further purpose is to achieve improved solutions by using cast-in protective components in many contexts as detailed below.
A central purpose is to improve safety. In particular, this applies to safety in connection with the risk of explosion due to short-circuit currents in the protective component. A specific purpose in this context is to control emissions of expanding, ionized gases.
One purpose of stepwise handling is to improve safety by reducing the danger to the environment in the event of a short circuit. In the case of a minor short circuit, the emission of ionized gases from the embedded component can be prevented and in the case of larger explosions, the effect will be reduced.
A further purpose of step-by-step handling is to reduce costs and resource use by possible re-use of embedded protective components after an explosion.
The objectives are achieved by a solution according to the invention as defined in more detail in the independent patent claim, while embodiments of the invention are defined in the non-independent claims.
The invention relates to a cast-in electrotechnical protective component which comprises at least one electrical connection device and further cast-in devices that protect said switch material against the ingress of solid objects, gases and fluids. The aforementioned embedding devices comprise casting compound and an outer mould, where the casting compound is arranged in contact with outer parts of the switch material to help achieve an improved degree of enclosure. Embodiments of the embedded switchgear have enclosure degrees from at least IP44 and up to an enclosure degree equivalent to IP69K.
In various embodiments, the electrotechnical protection component can include a circuit breaker, an earth fault circuit breaker, an earth fault circuit breaker, a circuit breaker, or the like that is embedded.

The aforementioned forms of connection devices can in certain contexts be advantageously combined.
The electrical connection devices can be molded into a common molding compound with a molded-in switch unit, which helps to ensure the desired degree of sealing.
Said flexible membrane enables operation of the operating device with the membrane closed. Parts of the membrane can advantageously border the casting mass so that the casting mass and the membrane are encompassed by an integrated solution that contributes to an enclosure rating of IP69K.
In a further embodiment, a mechanical attachment device for the switch material is attached by means of the molding compound. Such a fastening device can, for example, constitute a wall or post fastening. The solution can provide a good attachment without the use of, for example, screws.
The molding compound can comprise either one-component molding compound or two-component molding compound such as epoxy, polyurethane or the like.
Innstøpt brytermateriell ifølge utførelsesformene nevnt ovenfor, kan med fordel anvendes i næringsmiddelproduksjon, treforedlingsindustri, jernbanesammenheng, vaskehaller, veilys, lystbåter, yrkesbåter, campingvogner, maskiner, verktøy, strømuttak, fordelinger, lysmaster, ladestasjoner eller liknende. Aktuelt i denne sammenheng er anvendelse i korrosivt miljø (for eksempel i forbindelse med treforedling). Cast-in switch material according to the embodiments mentioned above can be advantageously used in food production, the wood processing industry, railway contexts, washrooms, road lights, pleasure boats, commercial boats, caravans, machines, tools, power outlets, distribution boards, light masts, charging stations or the like. Current in this context is application in a corrosive environment (for example in connection with wood processing).
Other aspects and advantages of the invention will be apparent from the following description and the appended claims.

Detaljert beskrivelse av oppfinnelsen Detailed description of the invention
Nevnte Figure 1 schematically shows an embodiment of the invention where an electronic protection component in the form of a circuit breaker (2) is embedded in molding compound (6). The safety devices for the discharge (handling) of ionized gases are not shown in this figure nor in figures 2 to 6. Mentioned
sikkerhetsanordninger er imidlertid spesielt fremhevet i figurene 7A-C, 8A-C og 9A-C som beskrives i detalj nedenfor. however, safety devices are particularly highlighted in Figures 7A-C, 8A-C and 9A-C which are described in detail below.
Tilkoplingsanordningene for automatsikringen (1) utgjøres her av to elektriske kabler (5a, 5b) der den ene elektriske kabelen (5a) typisk er koplet til tilførsel, mens den andre elektriske kabelen (5b) typisk kan være koplet til en last for eksempel i form av en armatur. The connection devices for the circuit breaker (1) here consist of two electric cables (5a, 5b) where one electric cable (5a) is typically connected to the supply, while the other electric cable (5b) can typically be connected to a load, for example in the form of a fixture.
The automatic fuse (2) comprises an operating device (4) in the form of a rocker switch (4a) which enables manual operation. The embedding devices comprise an outer mold (7) which defines the shape of the main part of the embedded circuit breaker (1). The mold (7) and the automatic fuse (2) as well as the position of these in relation to each other, mainly determine the final shape of the molding compound (6).
When constructing an embodiment of the invention in the form of a built-in circuit breaker (1), there are a number of aspects/requirements/criteria that should be taken into account. Dimensioning of the embedding devices (6, 7) is primarily done to help ensure the optimal degree of encapsulation, but in addition consideration should be given to, among other things, thermal conductivity, weight, space for encapsulation of elements in addition to the automatic fuse (2) itself, for example connection devices (5a, 5b) and ability to mechanically lock these elements. In the embodiment in the figures, a molding compound layer (6) is arranged so that it is thin at the relevant parts of the top and bottom as well as longitudinal side surfaces of the automatic fuse (2), while it is relatively thick at the end surfaces (top/bottom). The thin parts of the molding compound (6) help to ensure good thermal conductivity from the automatic fuse (2). The molding compound (6) can advantageously be of a heat-conducting type. While the thick areas provide volume for effectively integrating equipment, for example in the form of connection devices (5a, 5b).
A circuit breaker (2) typically comprises a main part whose main function is to break the current circuit in the event of a fault, thereby primarily securing the wiring network against loads for which it is not designed. There are circuit breakers (2) for single-pole and multi-pole breaks, but requirements for two- or more-pole breaks are becoming increasingly common.
The electrotechnical components that are cast in will typically be standard equipment. It will therefore not normally be necessary to acquire dedicated products, which will often be disproportionately expensive. The products can also be modular. However, standard, modular products in an embedded version will normally deviate from the standard in terms of size. Embedded versions in standard sizes can conceivably be provided by manufacturing switchgear for embedded in a custom smaller size.
The degree of enclosure of a circuit breaker (2) is determined by the enclosure solution for the elements that the circuit breaker (2) includes; i.e. the main part, the connection devices and possibly the operating devices (4) with closing devices (8), where the closing devices (8) will normally be transparent. In connection with encapsulation, the challenges and solutions will be different for the three aforementioned groups of elements. Furthermore, it will be of great importance how the encapsulation devices for the aforementioned three groups of elements are integrated. We will get into this in more detail later on. Finally, in this context, we would like to mention that the degree of protection of a standard circuit breaker is IP20.
De elektriske tilkoplingsanordningene omfatter her to elektriske kabler (5a, 5b), der den ene elektriske kabelen (5a) er anordnet for typisk å kunne tilkoples tilførsel, mens den andre (5b) er anordnet for typisk å kunne tilkoples last f eks i form av en armatur. Figure 1 shows an embodiment of the invention in accordance with the common description for Figures 1-3 above. The electrical connection devices here comprise two electrical cables (5a, 5b), where one electrical cable (5a) is arranged to typically be able to connect a supply, while the other (5b) is arranged to typically be able to be connected to a load, e.g. in the form of a fixture.
This embodiment will be able to achieve a high degree of encapsulation such as IP69K (refer to the chapter regarding Background for the invention), and thereby be used under particularly demanding conditions (see below). The electrical cables (5a, 5b) are here connected directly to the circuit breaker (2). Thereby, the connection devices (5) do not need to include contacts or plugs. Contacts and plugs are elements that typically provide a lower degree of encapsulation. For example, a Schuko connector with a flap lid provides an enclosure rating of IP44.
Embedding the electrical cables (5a, 5b) helps to achieve the aforementioned high degree of encapsulation. The molding compound (6) will effectively seal around the cables (5a, 5b) along relatively long parts of them at the connection points to the circuit breaker (2). The molding compound (3) will typically be slightly expanding, which further contributes to ensuring a seal not only against said electric cables (5a, 5b), but generally for the solution.
Another advantage of the embodiment with directly connected conductors (5a, 5b) is that production and maintenance are simplified and that acquisition and maintenance costs are reduced. Embedding the electrical cables (5a, 5b) therefore contributes significantly to achieving the high degree of encapsulation in this embodiment.
Figure 2 shows a further embodiment where the connection devices comprise a male and a female plug (5c, 5d) to which electrical cables with corresponding male and female plugs can be connected. The male and female plugs (5c, 5d) are further connected to the circuit breaker (2) using cables. The latter cables are not included in the figure for the sake of simplicity.
This embodiment will also be able to achieve a relatively high degree of encapsulation such as IP67 or IP68 (refer to the chapter regarding Background to the invention), and thereby be used under demanding conditions (see below). While this embodiment can offer a high degree of encapsulation, adjacent equipment is connected by means of separate cables; which can be beneficial for production and installation.
Figure 3 shows a further embodiment where the connection devices comprise a Schuko contact (5f), to which electrical cables with matching plugs can be connected. The Schuko contact (5f) is further connected to the circuit breaker (2) by means of cables. The latter cables are not included in the figure for the sake of simplicity.
Denne utførelsesformen tilbyr typisk f eks IP44 (ref kapitlet angående Bakgrunn for oppfinnelsen), altså en noe lavere innkapslingsgrad enn utførelsesformene nevnt ovenfor. This embodiment typically offers, for example, IP44 (ref the chapter regarding Background for the invention), i.e. a somewhat lower degree of encapsulation than the embodiments mentioned above. Figures 4, 5 and 6 illustrate embodiments with different versions of encapsulation devices/closing devices (8) for the operating devices (4). The operating devices (4) for an automatic fuse (2) comprise a rocker switch (4a) arranged to manually close and open the current circuit in question. The encapsulation devices for the operating elements (4) help to ensure the current degree of encapsulation of the encapsulated automatic fuse (1) while manual operation is practically possible. Solutions that provide easy access to the operating devices (4), for example in the form of a flap lid, may be unfavorable in terms of achieving a good degree of encapsulation. The properties of the embedded circuit breaker (1) will depend on a good solution for how the encapsulation devices for the operating devices (4a) are integrated with the enclosures of the main part of the circuit breaker (2). Figure 4 schematically shows a particularly advantageous embodiment where the encapsulation devices for the operating devices (4) comprise a flexible membrane (8a). Such a membrane (8a) can, for example, be made of silicone. The flexible membrane (8a) enables manual operation of the operating devices (4) without the encapsulation devices for the operating devices (4) having to be opened and consequently also without the use of tools; in other words, this embodiment has ergonomically good properties. Furthermore, the end edge of the flexible membrane (8a) can be cast in using the casting compound (6). Thereby, the encapsulation devices for the automatic fuse (2) and for the operating devices (4) form a coherent encapsulation solution. In this way, an optimal degree of encapsulation can be provided. The embodiment is also designed so that it does not prevent automatic tripping (triggering) in the event of overload or short circuit. The design will also be uncomplicated in that it comprises a relatively small number of structural elements, while maintenance will be simple. The solution will also be economically beneficial both in terms of acquisition and maintenance costs. In conclusion regarding this embodiment, it is pointed out that a high degree of enclosure of IP69K is achieved here, and that this is combined with other favorable properties as detailed above. Figure 5 shows an embodiment in which the encapsulation devices for the operating devices (4) comprise a lid attached with fastening devices (8b), for example in the form of screws, where the lid typically rests against a seal to improve the degree of enclosure. The lid (8b) must be opened for operation of the controls (4); an operation that requires the use of tools. The ergonomic properties are therefore considered not to be very good. Furthermore, here too, the end edge of the lid devices (8b) can be molded in using the casting compound. The enclosure devices for the automatic fuse (2) and for the operating devices (4) do not form a coherent enclosure solution, but a cover attached with fastening devices provides a good degree of enclosure. The degree of protection that can be provided using this solution could be IP69K. Figure 6 shows an embodiment in which the encapsulation devices for the operating devices (4) comprise a flap lid (8c). The flap lid devices (8c) must be opened for operation by the operating means (4), but do not require the use of tools. Associated ergonomic properties are therefore considered to be relatively good. Furthermore, the end edge of the flap lid devices (8c) can be molded in using the casting compound. The encapsulation devices for the automatic fuse (2) and for the operating devices (4) do not, however, constitute a coherent encapsulation solution as the flap lid ensures encapsulation by means of sealing devices. The degree of protection that can be provided using this solution will typically be IP66-67. Figures 1 to 6 described above primarily present the enclosure devices according to the invention.
Safety devices for releasing (handling) expanding ionized gases which are formed by short-circuit currents constitute central features of the invention which are illustrated in subsequent figures.
Figures 7A, 8A and 9A show views of a cast-in protective component (1) according to the invention, inserted against a side of the component where an electric cable is arranged. The electric cable is led into the embedded protective component through a hole or recess in an end wall of the housing. In said hole or recess, a sealing element is further arranged which will be described in more detail in connection with figures 7B, 8B and 9B.
At the outer edges of the end wall, a cable seal is illustrated which helps to ensure that the cable entry is tight against the molding compound.
Above the end wall you can see the end surface of the encapsulation devices for the operating devices which are described in more detail above.
In conclusion regarding Figures 7A, 8A and 9A, we would like to mention that the dashed lines A-A, B-B and C-C are only included to illustrate where in the transverse direction the longitudinal section presented in Figures 7B, 8B and 9B is laid.
Figures 7B, 8B and 9B show a longitudinal section of a molded-in protection component (1) according to the invention, where the approximate location of the safety devices for the release of ionized gases is highlighted by a dotted circle at the bottom right of the figures.
The technical function of the aforementioned safety devices (explosion protection) is described below.
In the event of a short circuit in the protective component, which here consists of a fuse (2), ionized gases will be formed at high temperature. These gases will increase the pressure in the fuse (2) because when fully embedded, the fuse (2) will be surrounded by a dense mass (6) which hermetically closes the possibility of the gases escaping.
The fuse (2) has one or more openings (12) which are designed to release the gases in the event of a short circuit, but due to the embedment these openings (12) will be sealed. In the illustrated embodiment, a membrane (13) is arranged above the openings (12) which prevents molding compound (6) from penetrating into the securing element (2).
In the event of a short circuit and the development of ionized gases with pressure, this membrane (13) could be pushed outwards and create a pressure against external elements which include the explosion protection element (14) and casting compound (6).
The explosion protection element (14) is arranged in a protection volume () at least partially bounded by the molding compound (6), and has such a property that it is pressed together under pressure and will form a cavity (15) which will reduce the pressure and thereby prevent the fuse (2) is blown to pieces and poses a danger to the personnel who operate it.
In the event of a larger short circuit, the explosion protection element (14) will be further compressed and eventually release the gases into the open air and thus relieve the pressure in the fuse (14) in a safe direction from the personnel who operate it.
In what follows, the illustrated embodiments are described in somewhat greater detail.
I likhet med for den første tilstanden, vil også her vernkomponenten An explosion protection element (14) is typically designed so that it can be arranged close to the protective component (2) where this has openings (12) to release gas in the event of a short circuit. Optionally, there may be several explosion protection elements. In the present embodiment, the explosion protection element (14) is elongated and has a cross-section as illustrated in figures 7C, 8C and 9C. However, the explosion protection element can also have other shapes than those illustrated in the figures mentioned. The explosion protection element (14) typically has such a shape that it can help to form a cavity (15) at said one or more openings (12). Furthermore, the element (14) is typically arranged so that, on the outer side of the cast-in component (1), it is essentially covered by a layer of molding compound (6). However, the element (14) can be provided with a projecting part (16) which is suitable for protruding through said layer of molding compound (6). Figures 7C, 8C and 9C illustrate three possible states of the fuse devices in the event of a short circuit in the fuse (2). Figures 7B and 7C show the embedded protection component (1) in a normal working position where there has either been no explosion or possibly an explosion of such a size that the explosion protection element (14) is not compressed. The cast-in protective component (1) thereby maintains its safety function and can be reused. Figures 8B and 8C illustrate a second condition where there has been an explosion and where the explosion protection element (14) is compressed so that the volume (15) for receiving the ionized gases is increased in relation to the original volume. However, said compression is not permanent, but elastic, in the sense that the explosion protection element (14) will return to its original shape when the pressure drops to normal. As for the first condition, here too the protection component will
(1) kunne gjenbrukes. (1) could be reused.
Figures 9B and 9C illustrate a third condition where there has been a short circuit, and where the explosion protection element (14) is compressed so that the volume (15) for receiving the ionized gases is increased in relation to the original volume. Said compression is here permanent, plastic, in the sense that the explosion protection element (14) will not regain its original shape when the pressure drops to normal. Furthermore, parts of the explosion protection element (14) at said projecting part (16) are deformed to such an extent that the ionized gases flow completely out of the embedded protective component (1). In addition, the explosion protection element (14) can be displaced in relation to the surrounding molding compound (6), and in the event of a severe short circuit, all or parts of the explosion protection element (14) can be pushed completely out of the embedded component (1). In contrast to the two aforementioned conditions, here the protective component (1) will be permanently destroyed and cannot be reused.
In addition to its main function, which is to increase safety in the event of a short circuit, the explosion protection element (14) also has a sealing function. It must therefore be completely or partially enclosed by molding compound (6), and be sized for the relevant pressures from the outside.
Figures 7C, 8C and 9C show an enlarged, longitudinal section of the safety devices for discharge (handling) of ionized gases highlighted at various phases of a discharge process.
The invention further relates to a method for handling ionized gases formed by short-circuiting in a cast-in, electrotechnical protective component (1) where the cast-in protective component is of the type described above.
The method for handling ionized gases comprises releasing expanding ionized gas which is formed by the short circuit, out through openings (12) in the protection component, and receiving the ionized gas which is released through the openings (12) in a protective volume arranged at said openings (12 ), where the securing volume is at least partially delimited by the molding compound (6). Furthermore, the method can include reducing pressure in the embedded protective component (1) by the gas that is released through the openings (12) helping to elastically compress a material that is arranged in the securing volume, and then optionally reducing pressure in the embedded protective component (1) in that the gas released through the openings (12) helps to plastically compress a material arranged in the securing volume.
In conclusion, the method may include reducing pressure in the embedded protection component (1) by the gas that is released through the openings (12) helping to permanently deform the material that is arranged in the protection volume to such an extent that parts of the gas are allowed to escape from it embedded component (1).
The molding compound (6) can be one- or two-component. One-component molding compounds (such as thermoplastics) are liquid at a relatively high temperature, while two-component molding compounds (such as epoxy, polyurethane, silicone and/or polyester) are liquid when the two components are mixed together and then hardened. The molding compound can also be of other categories, such as one-component glue or paint. The properties of the casting compound. The molding compound (6) in a liquid/viscous state is arranged in the volume between the mold (7) and the protective component to be embedded. The molding compound (6) should not normally have the opportunity to penetrate the protective component where it could hinder mechanical operation of the material. Therefore, if necessary, before embedding, it may be relevant to seal any mechanical openings in the protective component using sealants such as membrane, tape or the like.
As these are standardized modular products that have not previously been cast in, it is relevant to ensure that molding compound does not penetrate into the products when filling with molding compound. This can be done, for example, by threading a molded 2-part silicone or natural rubber cap over the product. First, the lower part is pulled up to where the screw connections are arranged. The cables are then inserted through this to be attached using the connection clamps. Then the upper part consisting of a transparent TPE plastic is pulled down to the cables. The natural rubber cap is then pulled over the TPE part and overlaps the lower part. The natural rubber cap can, for example, be approx. 20% less than the product they are drawn on. This is to ensure good sealing around the product and prevent air-filled spaces, while also ensuring good sealing around overlaps.
Casting should take place in a dry environment to prevent moisture that can condense from being trapped inside the cast solution. An alternative solution is for a gas which is suitable to prevent condensation to be closed into the automatic fuse when embedding.
Festeanordninger Fixing devices
Fastening devices, for example in the form of a wall mount for a cast-in circuit breaker, can be attached to said cast-in circuit breaker by casting parts of the fastening device into the molding compound.
Systemer Systems
Many different types of electrical system solutions can include embedded, electrotechnical protection components. The system solutions may include one or more embedded units, possibly one or more other electrical units, and possibly other devices. The embedded units will most typically be embedded separately, but more than one unit can form part of an integrated, embedded subsystem. An example of a relatively simple system solution could include a combination of a circuit breaker and a socket. Such a system solution is relevant for several applications, including, for example, connection to the power grid at a quay for leisure boats, or for connection to a caravan or an outlet for charging the battery for an electric car.
Anvendelser Applications
In general, the invention can be used in various forms of electrical installations in both industrial and private contexts, and both military and civilian. Application is relevant, for example, in connection with food production, the wood processing industry, railway connections, car washes, street lights, pleasure boats, commercial boats, caravans, machines, tools, power outlets, distributions and the like.
A current application of embedded protective components in a corrosive environment, for example in connection with the wood processing industry. By the fact that the switch material can be installed in the corrosive environment close to the machines in question, there is no need to pull said material out of said environment, which can provide improved placement in relation to the rest of the technical system, which in turn can mean simpler solutions and lower procurement costs. Alternatively, boxes could be used according to the state of the art with a high degree of enclosure, but these would provide both more complex and expensive solutions.
A particularly relevant application of the invention is the use of a built-in circuit breaker in light poles. In earlier times, there was no requirement for a 2-pole break in case of failure in light poles, and fuses were used. The requirement for 2-pole breaking combined with the need for a high degree of enclosure creates a need for a built-in circuit breaker. The cable to the fixture will typically be 6-10 m long, while the cable to the normal supply will be shorter (for example approx. 50 cm). The embedded circuit breaker can be according to one of the embodiments described above.
