Description

The present invention relates to a device - a drinking spout for a beverage can - to ensure hygiene when drinking from beverage cans. The drinking spout rises when the cover over the mouthpiece is pulled off and access to the can's contents is only through the drinking spout's mouthpiece. The drinking spout is made of elastic material according to "Regulation on materials and objects in contact with foodstuffs of 21.12.1993 no. 1381". The opening of the drinking spout is roughly the same size as the opening of 33 cl bottles for soda and beer that are used today.

Beverage cans can be exposed to external contamination during transport and storage and there is a risk that a beverage can reaches the user in an unattractive and unhygienic state. When drinking from beverage cans as they are designed today, one must put the can close to the mouth, with the risk of transferring infectious particles that may be on the outside of the can. The can opening has very sharp edges that can cause cuts to the consumer's lips. Many people do not drink from cans for these reasons. A drinking spout can also be obtained by principle which is used i.a. on oil jugs, where you pull the spout out of the jug and unscrew the spout cap. This solution is hygienically worse as the spout can be pressed down again without the lid and contamination from the jug top can enter the jug. Overpressure in the can, which is the case with most beverage cans, can push such a spout up before it is desired.

There is a United States Patent 4,407,425 dated Oet. 4.1983 and a US Patent 6.237.817 B 1 dated May 29. 2001, both of which show a similar device where the person drinking from the can - as in our invention - has a drinking nozzle to drink from and does not have to put his mouth close to any of the can's surface to drink from the can. Our invention will be explained in more detail in the following with reference to the attached drawings: Fig. 1 shows a drinking spout 10 made continuous with a carrier plate 18, set from above and j section A -A. Fig. 2 shows a beverage box 15 with a pull ring 13, seen from above, and section B - B and section C - C through the beverage box. *£rig> 3 shows a beverage can 15 seen from above with the cover 16 pulled off, and with drinking spout 10 in a bent position. Fig. 4 shows the same section C-C of the beverage box 15 as in fig. 2, but with the cover 16 pulled off and with the drinking spout 10 in an upright position. Fig. 5 shows how a beverage can 15 is usually held when it is to be opened.

Vår oppfinnelse er forskjellig fra de amerikanske patentene, spesielt ved følgende Our invention differs from the US patents in particular as follows

pkt. 1 og 2. points 1 and 2.

Point 1: With our invention, the pressure equalization in the beverage can 15 occurs immediately upon penetration of the can lid 17. This is achieved by the drink spout 10 having grooves 14a and 14b, on the outside towards the can lid 17 and inside the drink spout 10, as shown in Fig. 1-2-3 -4. Knobs can replace grooves. The penetration point on the can lid 17, at the tip 19 of the pull ring, is placed in relation to the drinking spout 10, which is under the can lid 17, between the attachment/adhesive surface 11 and the beginning of the grooves 14 a, shown in Fig. 2 section C-C. When penetrating the can lid 17, one will then naturally hold the beverage can 15 so that the pull ring tip 19 points towards the user as shown in Fig 5, and naturally one will then hold the beverage can 15 so that the level 20 of the contents of the beverage can 15 comes under the drinking spout<n> s 10 outlet opening 21 in the beverage can 15, thereby avoiding splashing of the beverage can's 15 contents when penetrating the can lid 17.

Her vil da foreligge risiko for ukrontrollert utblåsing av drikkevareboksen's 15 innhold. The American patent US 6,237,817 B 1, says little about any problems with pressure increase of the beverage can 10, see US pat. Fig. 2 -3, Any pressure equalization must only take place after the cover 14 over the drinking spout 18 has been pulled completely or almost completely off, as described in the description 2 lines 53 - 61. There will then be a risk of uncontrolled blowing out of the beverage can's 15 contents .

The American patent US 4,407,425 also says nothing about any possible problems with pressure equalization when the box is opened. With reference to the American patent US 4,407,425 Fig 1-4, it can be assumed that pressure equalization occurs at an uncontrolled time when the cover 25 over the drinking spout 32 is pulled off with the pulling ring 35.

US patent 4.407.425 Fig 1 - 4 viser hvordan drikketutdel 30 festes i lokket 21. US patent 4,407,425 Figs 1 - 4 show how the drinking spout 30 is attached to the lid 21. With cans with excess pressure, there will be a risk that the drinking spout 30 can be pushed out when the cover 25 is pulled off.

Point 2: With our invention, the drinking spout 10 and carrier plate 18 with attachment/adhesive surface 11 are made in one piece, and attached/glued to the underside of the can lid 17, with the drinking spout 10 bent down in space 12, as shown in Fig. 2 section B-B and section C-C. When the carrier plate 18 with the beverage spout 10 is made in one piece and attached to the underside of the can lid 17 with the attachment/adhesive surface 11, filling the beverage can 15 and folding the can lid 17 with the beverage can 15 can take place as today, with the currently most used can and lid type.

Patent US 6.237.817 B 1, US pat Fig. 2-3, viser at del 15 med drikketuten 18 festes til veggen 11 i drikkevareboksen s 10 åpning, beskrevet i beskrivelsen 2 linje 37 -40. Patent US 6,237,817 B 1, US pat Fig. 2-3, shows that part 15 with the drinking spout 18 is attached to the wall 11 of the beverage box s 10 opening, described in the description 2 line 37 -40. This solution would be very complicated, if not impossible, with the type of box and lid most commonly used today.

Patent US 4.407.425 Fig. 1 - 4 viser hvordan drikketutdel 30 festes i lokket 21. Patent US 4,407,425 Fig. 1 - 4 show how the drinking spout 30 is attached to the lid 21. With cans with internal positive pressure, there will be a possibility that the drinking spout 30 can be pressed out when the cover 25 is pulled off.

Industrial application of our invention will be for beverage cans, with or without excess pressure, and for other cans/jugs where it is important to prevent contamination of the contents of the can/jug when the can is opened. The can lid 17, with the drinking spout 10 and the carrier plate 18, attached/glued on, is completed by the lid manufacturer. The folding of the can lid 17 with the beverage can 15 after filling the beverage can 15 will be as it is today. When recycling, the drinking spout 10 with carrier plate 18 and the beverage can 15 can be separated from each other by pulling the drinking spout 10 with the carrier plate 18 loose from the can lid 17.

Kort beskrivelse: Short description:
