Abstract

An articles carrier (C) of the basket type for bottles comprises a base (16, 22), opposed side walls (12, 28) opposed end walls (64, 66; 88, 90) and an internal medial partition structure (74, 84; 100, 110) which incorporates an upstanding handle panel (112, 144). The carrier includes bottle cells defined, in part, by transverse partition panels (116, 118, 120; 148, 150) on both sides of the medial partition structure. The open tops of the cells are substantially closed by removable top panels (32, 44) extending between the upstanding handle panel and respective side walls of the carrier and include openings (A) through which neck portions of bottles received in the carrier are exposed to view.

Basket type carrier adapted to accommodate multiple articles, such as bottles, comprising a base (16), opposing side walls (12, 28) and end walls (64, 66, 88, 90), an interior center divider (100, 110) and a handle (H) with which the carrier can be lifted and carried, the articles being received on both sides of the middle partition (100, 110) in the carrier, the top plates (32, 44) being formed mainly to close the top in the carrier and connect the handle (H) with each of the side walls (12, 28), the top plates (32, 44) having holders (S<1>, S2, S<3>, S<4>, S5, S6) to separate adjacent articles (B) when such are located in the carrier, and as the handle (H) is breakably connected to the top plates (32, 44) and/or the nearby side wall (12,

28) characterized in that the middle partition (100, 110) further includes handle plates (138, 144) arranged in an overlapping relationship with plates (36, 38) which are included in the handle.

Carrier according to claim 1, characterized in that the middle partition (100, 110) is connected to the end walls (64, 66, 88, 90) and/or the side walls (12, 28) to enable removal of articles (B) which are in the carrier without destroying the integrity of the handle, so that the carrier can be used again.

3. Carrier according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the top plates comprise a pair of plates (32, 44) each of which is integral with, but separable from, the central partition (100, 110) and the respective of the opposite side walls (12 , 28).

Carrier according to claim 3, characterized in that the central partition (100, 110) comprises integrated transverse dividing plates (116, 118, 120, 148, 150, 152) which connect the central plates (100, 110) and the central partition and each of the opposite side walls (12, 28) in the carrier, so that several receiving cells for articles are thereby formed on both sides of the middle partition, and that each of the top plates (32, 44) essentially closes the upper part at the open ends of the cells to prevent removal of the articles from these until the top plates have been at least partially loosened.

Carrier according to claim 3 or 4, characterized in that a pair of identical plates (36, 48) for reinforcing the handle are hinged together and to the respective one of each of the top plates (32, 44), the handle plates (36, 48), as soon as the carrier is filled, is secured in a flat to flat relationship with an upright handle portion (138, 144) in the center partition, so that each of the top plates (32, 44) is thereby located.

Carrier according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the bottom (16) includes a plate (22) adapted mainly to close the bottom in the carrier after it is filled, and that the bottom plate (16) includes at least one opening (A), with which the carrier can be inserted onto a bar which forms a member for article separation in a transport stand.

Subject matter for forming a basket-type carrier, comprising a single sheet of foldable material, which sheet includes plates for forming a bottom (16), opposing side walls (12, 28) and end walls (64, 66, 88, 90), a middle partition (100, 110), each of the side walls (12, 28) being hinged together with plates (32, 44) which mainly close the top in the carrier, the closing top plates (32, 44) being formed with openings (S<1 >, S2, S3, S<4>, S<5>, S<6>), through which parts of articles (A) contained in the carrier can be exposed, and as the top plates (32, 44) are breakably connected to a handle (H) and/or each of the side walls (12, 28), characterized in that the central partition (100, 110) further includes handle plates (138, 144) adapted to be brought into an overlapping relationship with plates (36, 38) which comprise in the handle.

8. Item according to claim 7, characterized in that each of the closing top plates (32, 44) is hinged to the respective one by a pair of plates (36, 48) for reinforcing the handle, the plates (36, 48) for reinforcing the handle are hinged to each other along a central fold line (F) in the blank.
