Description

Facade panel mounting system
The present invention relates to the facade panel mounting system for mounting to the building wall, intended to be used in the systems of invisible mounting of ventilated facades.
In this specification the invisible mounting system means the type of mounting of facade panels, in which the elements used to fasten the facade panels to the building wall or to the support structure attached to the wall and used for attachment of the facade panels to it, are not visible from the front of the facade. This term refers not only to the fasteners of facade panels themselves but to all mounting nodes used for direct or indirect fixing of facade panels to the wall. In particular, the concept of the invisible mounting system includes also the mounting of facade panels on the building wall where every next panel that is being mounted covers the fasteners and mounting nodes of the panels that have already been mounted.
The specification of the Polish utility model PL 121955(Ul) reveals the unit for installation of facade panels designed for invisible mounting of panels and similar type of wall cladding on inner and outer walls of buildings.
The known system comprises a mounting strip attached horizontally to the building wall and a moving bearing strip with the same section as the mounting strip but turned 180°. The facade panel is fastened to the bearing strip. The mounting strip and the bearing strip are in the form of identical C-shaped sections, in the upper part of the section with the upper edge finished with a round rim curved outwards at an acute angle, and in the lower part with a U-shaped longitudinal groove placed on the inside of the section next to which there is a C-shapes longitudinal channel with blocking edges. In the longitudinal channel of the bearing strip there is a nut with an adjustment screw screwed into it, placed in the through hole, passing the longitudinal channel and the lower part of the moving bearing strip which allows up and down adjustment of the facade panel location. Since the bearing strip moves against the mounting strip, it is possible to adjust the location of the facade panel to the left and to the right.
A similar structural solution was revealed in the specification of the Chinese utility model CN 201874132(U) regarding the aluminium hanging system for stone covering wall elements. According to this solution, horizontal C-shaped support sections are attached to vertical sections attached to the building wall and facade panels are hung on these support sections with the use of sliding holders. The support sections and the holders have the same cross-section and they are turned 180° in relation to each other. In the upper shelves of the C-shaped section forming the holders the adjustment screws are screwed that allow to change the position of the panel vertically and the sliding connection of the support sections and holders allow to move the facade panels horizontally.
The facade panel mounting systems presented in specifications of utility models PL 121955(Ul) and CN 201874132(U) do not provide the possibility of panel location adjustment by tilting them at an angle from the plane defined by the support sections.
The patent specification PL 200245(Bl) reveals also a device for mounting facade panels to the building wall with a vertical transverse bracket mounted horizontally on the wall or on the vertical bracket that forms a closed empty shaped element and with hangers placed on the facade panel and hung on the transverse bracket and sliding along the transverse support and the hangers are made in the form of hooks and have one downward-looking arm while the transverse bracket has a rib protruding upwards that runs along the support and is used to hang hangers.
The known device for mounting facade panels ischaracterised bya rib of the transverse bracket that protrudes upwards and is placed on the upper part of the empty shaped element and a downward-looking arm of the hanger supported by the front wall of the transverse bracket and facing the facade panel. Moreover, the transverse bracket has a longitudinal guide in which it is installed on the wall to allow sliding and the height of the hanger location on the transverse bracket is adjusted with a screw while the hanger has a hanging hole in the shape of a keyhole for hanging the facade panel.
In the known device the facade panels are rigidly mounted to the hanger with non-articulated fasteners hidden in a taper hole in the reverse side of the facade panel which prevents panel tilting at an angle against the transverse bracket and the building wall. It excludes the possibility of using the known solutions for hanging facade panels on walls with curvature, cracks or offsets.
The patent specifications DE 19749634 and DE 19800614 reveal fasteners for facade panels equipped with a spherical joint that allows tilting at an angle the shaft of the fastener, which is rigidly connected with the facade panel against the threaded pin with which the fastener is fixed to the elements of the support structure. However, these known fasteners do not meet the requirements of invisible mounting since they are installed in a through hole made in a panel, thus the shaft can be seen on the front side of the facade panel. Moreover, the articulated fasteners of this type are far more expensive than non-articulated fasteners, installed in a taper hole narrowing near the outlet from the reverse side of the facade panels.
A technical issue to be solved is the development of such a facade panel mounting system with horizontal support sections interacting with sliding hangers of panels which allows tilting of facade panels at an angle despite the fact that they are rigidly connected with the hanger.
According to the invention, the facade panel mounting system with a horizontal section installed on the wall or a vertical section of the facade support structure, and this horizontal section is a shaped element with a C-shaped transverse profile with the upper shelf finished with a rib turned upwards and at least one hanger sliding along the horizontal section, rigidly connected during assembly of the facade with the facade panel with the use of fasteners and hung on the rib of the upper shelf of the horizontal section that protrudes upwards and the hanger is in the form of a section with the cross-section similar to the angle with hooks whose first arm is downward-looking and fixed by sliding against the bottom shelf of the horizontal section and the second arm is horizontal and comprises at least one adjustment screw, it ischaracterised bythe hangers with a downward-looking arm on which there is a deflectable tongue within which a hole is located for the fastener fixing the panel on the hanger.
The deflectable tongue preferably forms a fragment of the downward-looking arm of the hanger, separated and preferably cut out from three sides, from the downward-looking arm, and connected with the remaining part of the first downward-looking arm with a straight bending edge.
Preferably, the bending edge connecting the tongue with the remaining part of the first downward-looking arm is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the horizontal section.
Preferably, the bending edge connecting the tongue with the remaining part of the first downward-looking arm is diagonal to the longitudinal axis of the horizontal section.
Preferably, the bending edge connecting the tongue with the remaining part of the downward-looking arm is parallel to the longitudinal axis of the horizontal section.
Preferably the hole in the tongue is round or hexagonal or oval or in the shape of a keyhole.
Preferably, the longitudinal section is a shaped element bent from a sheet metal.
Preferably, the hanger is a shaped element bent from a sheet metal.
The solution according to the invention completely solves the technical issues by allowing tilting at an angle against the building wall of the panels that are rigidly connected to hangers. The said solution is useful when constructing by invisible mounting the facade of buildings with curved walls, and with cracked walls, without the need to rectify the support facade since it allows location of panels on a plane other than that defined by section of the support structure and it allows to obtain stable and individual panel settings by bending the middle metal plate during the facade assembly.
In addition, if between the panel and the hanger there are rigid fasteners and spacer sleeves of various lengths, it is possible to use the solution on walls with offsets.
In the examples of execution the present invention was presented in the attached figure where Fig.l presents the side view of the facade panel mounting system; Fig.2 presents the front view of the facade panel mounting system in the first example of execution, with the tongue located on the plane of the hanger arm; Fig.3 presents the front view of the facade panel mounting system in the first example of execution with the tongue tilted away from the plane of the hanger arm; Fig.4 presents the front view of the facade panel mounting system in the second example of execution with the tongue located on the plane of the hanger arm; Fig. 5 presents the side view of the facade panel mounting system connected with the facade panel by a fastener with a short sleeve; Fig.6 presents the side view of the facade panel mounting system connected with the facade panel by a fastener with a long sleeve; Fig.7 presents the side view of the facade panel mounting system connected with the facade panel by an articulated element; Fig.8 presents a top view of the facade panel mounting system connected with the facade panel by an articulated element.
The facade panel mounting system presented in the examples of execution in Fig.l to Fig.4 comprises a horizontal section made of sheet metal 1 which during the assembly of the facade is fixed rigidly to the wall or the vertical section of the support structure with the use of screws 2. The horizontal section 1 is in the form of an elongated shaped element with a C-shaped transverse profile. The top shelf 3 of the horizontal section 1 is finished with a rib 4 turned upwards. Similarly, the bottom shelf 6 of the horizontal section 1 is finished with an edge 7 turned upwards. During the assembly of the facade the horizontal section 1 is fixed to the building wall or the vertical support section in such a position that the rib could face the facade panels 5. On the horizontal section 1 there is a sliding sheet metal hanger 8 hanging in the form of a section with a cross-section similar to an L-shaped hook, to which the facade panel 5 is fixed rigidly. The hanger 8 has the first arm that is downward-looking and equipped in its upper and bottom part with holders 10 defining, together with the surface of the first arm 9, the slots sliding on the side on the rib 4 turned upwards of the upper shelf 3 of the horizontal section 1 while on the other side on the top edge 7 turned upwards of the bottom shelf 6 of the horizontal section 1 in such a position when the hanger 8 is hung on the horizontal section 1. The sliding connection between the holders 10 of the hanger 8 and the rib 4 and the edge 7 of the horizontal section 1 allows to slide the hanger 8 along the horizontal section 1 to horizontally adjust the location of the facade panel 5 attached to the hanger 8. While the other arm 11 of the hanger 8 is located horizontally and comprises an adjustment screw 12 which allows during the assembly of the facade to vertically change the location of the facade panel 5 attached to the hanger 8. To enable angular adjustment of the location of the facade panel 5 attached to the hanger 8 against the horizontal section 1 (and thus against the building wall on which the facade in mounted) , the first arm 9 of the hanger 8 comprises a deflectable tongue 13 located between holders 10. The tongue 13 comprises a hole 14 for the fastener 15 fixing the facade panel 5 to the hanger 8.
In the first example of invention execution (Fig.l and
Fig.3) in the tongue 13 there is a hexagonal hole 14 provided, while in the second example of invention execution (Fig.4) the hole 14 is round. In the next examples of invention execution, the tongue 13 may be equipped with an oval hole or a hole in the shape of a keyhole.
In both examples of invention execution presented in detail, the tongue 13 is an integral part of the hanger 8 which is cut (separated) from three sides from the downward-looking, first arm 9 of the hanger 8 and the tongue 13 is on one side connected with the first arm 9 with a straight bending edge 16.
The first example of invention execution (Fig.l and Fig.3) provides the location of the bending edge 16 in parallel to the longitudinal axis of the horizontal section 1. In turn, in the second example (Fig.4) the bending edge 16 is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the horizontal section 1.
In yet another example the bending edge may be located diagonally against the longitudinal axis of the horizontal section.
Several practical examples of use of the present invention in the assembly of the facade are presented in Fig.5 to Fig.8. In these examples of invention use the basic option for fastening the facade panel 5 to the hanger 8 is the use of a rigid (non-articulated) fastener 15 with a plastically deformable head installed in the taper hole made in the reverse side of the facade panel 5 and a threaded pin installed in the hole 14 of the tongue 13 and blocked with a nut (Fig.5 and Fig.6).
To enable the angular tilting of panel 5 from the plane defined by the horizontal section 1, between the panel 5 and the tongue 13 a spacer sleeve 17 is installed.
If it is necessary to increase the angle at which the panel 5 should be tilted, a longer sleeve 17 is used (Fig. 6) than in the situation when it is enough to tilt the panel 5 at a smaller angle (Fig.5).
Another practical use of the present invention is presented in Fig. 7 and Fig. 8. In this case the tongue 13 is bent at right angles against the first arm 9 of the hanger and to the panel 5 there is an angular holder 18 attached whose free arm is equipped with a round hole interacting with the hole 14 of the tongue and a cylindrical fastener 19, preferably with a screw, to create a cylindrical joint between the hanger 8 and the panel 5.
It is clear to the persons familiar with the said technical field that the structural options presented above narrow neither the essence nor the scope of protection of the solution since these are only figures of the examples of its execution.
