Abstract

Det beskrives en metode for å måle den vertikale komponent Hz av et magnetisk felt fra naturlige kilder (MT) samtidig på et antall punkter på havbunnen for å bestemme lokasjoner med en vertikal komponent Hz forskjellig fra null og som indikerer en kant av et resistivt legeme (struktur), for å bestemme hvorvidt eller ikke en undersjøisk, geologisk struktur, kjent fra marine, seismiske målinger, viser en resistivitetskontrast med de omgivende bergstrukturer, idet en positiv kontrast tolkes som indikerende for en hydrokarbonfylling i strukturen.
