Abstract

Det beskrives et system og en fremgangsmåte for å overvåke et hydrokarbonreservoar for drenering i volumetriske tredimensjoner. Overvåkning mellom brønner er imperativt for optimal reservoardrift og blir oppnådd ved å kartlegge hydrokarbonlfuidveiene i et produserende reservoar. I motsetning til seismiske avbildingssystemer for konvensjonell 4D eller tidsforløprefiektering, som anvender en kontrollert aktiv seismisk kilde og registrerer reflektert seismisk energi ved mottakere, utnytter systemet og fremgangsmåten de minuttlige vibrasjonene eller små jordskjelv generert i reservoarlag som blir indusert av fluidbevegelse. Disse skjelvingene blir detektert idet fluider beveger seg i reservoaret.
