Abstract
Metode og utstyr for å bestemme (måle) nivået/høyden, hi - h, til ett eller flere interfaseskiller/grensesjikt mellom to eller flere fluidfaser med forskjellig egenvekt som befinner seg i en beholder, tank (1) eller lignende. Posisjonen (nivået) til de ulike grensesjiktene i en tank (1) bestemmes ved å måle trykket og dermed indirekte bestemme egenvekten for fluidet i tanken over tankens høyde ved anvendelse av en trykkmålestav (2) med trykksensorer (3) som er plassert i og strekker seg over høyden i tanken (1). Til bestemmelsen av grenseskiktene benyttes en matematisk modell eller algoritme som beregner hvordan egenvekten og dermed trykket varierer over tankens høyde som funksjon av fluidegenskapene til de respektive fluidene i tanken, idet grensesjiktet, basert på at tettheten er den samme innenfor hvert sjikt mellom det respektive fluid, defineres som det respektive punkt (nivå) der tettheten endres fra det ene sjikt til det neste i tanken.
