Abstract
Anvendelse av en drivstoffblanding omfattende en større mengde av et drivstoff egnet for anvendelse i en kompresjonstenningsmotor, hvilket drivstoff omfatter én eller flere hydrokarbonkomponenter som koker innenfor dieselkokeområdet, av hvilke hydrokarbonkomponenter minst én er blitt behandlet med et metalladsorberende eller metallabsorberende materiale i en fysikalsk fase som er forskjellig fra hydrokarbonkomponenten(e)s fase, for å redusere innholdet av minst ett metall, fortrinnsvis innholdet av minst ett tyngre metall, mer foretrukket innholdet av kobber og/eller jern og/eller sink, i den minst ene hydrokarbonkomponent, hvilken behandling innbefatter fysikalsk utskillelse av hydrokarbonkomponenten fra den metalladsorberende eller metallabsorberende fase, for det formål å redusere forekomsten av påfølgende dannelse av avsetninger, fortrinnsvis forbrenningsrelaterte avsetninger, under drift av en kompresjonstenningsmotor i hvilken drivstoffblandingen innføres og/eller å fjerne fra motoren tidligere forekommede avsetninger. Fortrinnsvis er nivået av avsetninger i motoren etter motordrift med den nevnte drivstoffblanding i motoren lavere enn nivået av avsetninger i motoren etter motordrift med en alternativ drivstoffblanding i motoren, hvilken alternative drivstoffblanding oppviser i det vesentlige de samme karakteristika som den nevnte drivstoffblanding, bortsett fra at hydrokarbonkomponentene i denne ikke er blitt behandlet med det nevnte metalladsorberende eller metallabsorberende materiale.
