Abstract
Det beskrives en fremgangsmåte for analysering av elektromagnetiske undersøkelsesdata fra et havbunnsområde (6) som antas eller er kjent å inneholde et resistivt eller ledende legeme, eksempelvis et undergrunnshydrokarbonreservoar (12). Fremgangsmåten innbefatter tilveiebringelse av horisontale elektromagnetiske feltdata ved hjelp av minst én mottaker (125) fra minst én horisontal elektrisk dipoltransmitter (22). Horisontale gradienter i de elektromagnetiske feltdata bestemmes for en første komponent av de elektromagnetiske feltdata i en første retning og for en andre komponent av de elektromagnetiske feltdata i en andre retning. De første og andre komponenter kan være det elektriske feltet i den første og andre retning eller det magnetiske feltet perpendikulært på den første og andre retningen. Gradientene blir kombinert for tilveiebringelse av kombinerte responsdata.
