Abstract
Fremgangsmåte for utvinning av hydrokarboner fra en porøs underjordisk hydrokarbonbærende formasjon, innbefattende: (a) tilførsel av en første strøm som innbefatter et vann av høy saltholdighet til en første side av en semipermeabel membran i minst én enhet for fremoverrettet osmose i et avsaltingsanlegg og tilførsel av en annen strøm som innbefatter en vandig oppløsning av et fjernbart oppløst materiale til en annen side av den semipermeable membranen, hvor konsentrasjonen av oppløst materiale i den vandige oppløsningen av det fjernbare oppløste materialet er tilstrekkelig større enn konsentrasjonen av oppløst materiale i vannet av høy saltholdighet slik at vann passerer gjennom den semipermeable membranen fra vannet av høy saltholdighet inn i den vandige oppløsningen av det fjernbare oppløste materialet til dannelse av en fortynnet vandig oppløsning av det fjernbare oppløste materialet; (b) fjerning av en tredje strøm som innbefatter en konsentrert saltoppløsning og en fjerde strøm som innbefatter en fortynnet vandig oppløsning av det fjernbare oppløste materialet fra nevnte henholdsvis første og andre sider av den semipermeable membranen i enheten for fremoverrettet osmose; (c) vesentlig separering av det fjernbare oppløste materialet fra den fjerde strømmen som innbefatter den fortynnede vandige oppløsningen av det fjernbare oppløste materialet til dannelse av en vannstrøm av lav saltholdighet som har et innhold av totale oppløste faste stoffer på mindre enn 5.000 ppm; (d) om nødvendig, øking av saltholdigheten til vannstrømmen av lav saltholdighet til et innhold av totale oppløste faste stoffer på minst 200 ppm, (e) føring av det behandlede vannet av lav saltholdighet inn i den hydrokarbonbærende formasjonen via en injeksjonsbrønn; (f) fortrengning av hydrokarbonene med det behandlede vannet av lav saltholdighet mot en tilknyttet produksjonsbrønn; og (g) utvinning av hydrokarboner fra formasjonen via produksjonsbrønnen.
